Ok guys, looking for your thoughts/opinions on this. So I’ve had the car now for about a month and a half. Since picking it up from having the whipple installed I haven’t really been “impressed” with it. I mean it runs good but not like I think it should for being an 800hp kit. Prior to buying this car I drove a buddy’s 2017 Roush phase 2 car and a 2017 Whipple car with custom tune. Both ran really well so I decided to take the plunge and buy a new 18. I just don’t feel like it has what it should.

I was finally able to put the car on a dyno today and I personally do not think the car is making the numbers that it should. Dyno operator agrees that they seem kind of low but I would like some other opinions on it.

It was a mustang dyno and we could not make a full pass in 5th due to the speed limiter. The 5th gear pull was to roughly 6700 rpm and it made 605hp and 505tq. We talked for a bit and let the car cool then decided to do a 4th gear pull. The hp/tq curves were practically identical (we were both very surprised) but being able to pull it to 73-7400 rpm it made 628hp.

Anyone else seeing similar numbers or think these are correct? They seem really low to me and I don’t think the car runs like it should. I know all dynos are different and you should take them with a gain of salt but it just doesn’t feel that strong. I’m trying to get half shafts and some drag wheels before the season is over to see what the track times tell me. That will be the true test.

Yea 4th is 1:1 on the 18. I would get a Lund tune honestly, unless you want your warranty. Should pick up a good amount with it

Yeah I paid to keep the warranty but now I’m rethinking that.

If you have the whipple software, You should go into that and adjust the limiters. It makes a big difference.

Mark, I don’t believe the 2018 has those features yet.

95civic, you can use the tomahawk to log a wot pull from, say, 3000-7500 rpm. It’s easy to download the data onto a pc and view it in excel. That will give you your iat, cht, spark advance, knock retard, commanded and measured lambda, and load. This might help diagnose if something is wrong with it.

The 2018 whipple mustangs with whipple cal are pulling 133-138 mph with no other changes to the car. If your car doesn’t feel fast either there is something wrong with it or your butt dyno calibration is different from mine.

133-135mph was my hope but it just doesn’t feel like it. I didn’t know you could data log it like that, thanks!!

Anyone think the numbers are low or just me?

I too have a M6 ‘18 but with the stage 2 and it was denied in 4th gear as others have said 1:1 is 4th now. It is an absolute beast to drive too. Hope you get yours figured out too.

Your car is a beast but a completely different setup than mine! lol I’d love to have your setup tho!!! I bet that thing is awesome. I’m really “only” looking for 775-800whp. I’ll probably stay 93 octane tho so that will be part of my limit.
