To me it sounds like some slack in the valves or.....

But it does (pardon my language) sound like shit. They say it sounds normal, but still they changed the pulley and belt for the water pump.....

Try a different dealer but hey Sweden beat Mexico 3-0 today so they won their group in the world cup. You got that going for you.

Haha yeah it was a great game :), that is at least something.
I have a new time booked with a new dealer on Tuesday next week.

The issue is in Sweden they don't have that much experience with Mustangs.....

No it does not sound normal at all. The car feels good as such, I have nothing to compare with though
My video at around 00:56 is where you hear the engine idling with no tapping sound.

That sound is not normal at all. Sounds like a collapsed lash adjuster. Raise hell with them or hit up another dealer.

It's still puzzling me why RHD cars do not have this horrible noise.....
This is NOT the BBQ tick noise that you’re referring to.

That noise is bottom end, is mostly random and limited to idle and just above idle.

This car has a top end problem, and I agree with Anthony....it sounds like a lash adjuster issue.

It's still puzzling me why RHD cars do not have this horrible noise. It sounds exactly like my VW when a petrol pipe was not clipped in place after a new water pump. Can you find the pipes before and after the HPFP and just hold them to see if any vibrations you feel correspond to the tick?
If you are really lucky it would be fantastic if simply holding the petrol line stopped the noise!
Where can I find this on the Mustang?

Just got home and listened to my car at idle fully warm. I'm happy my car doesn't make this noise even though it makes almost every other noise a 2018 can. sorry Mazman hopefully they figure it out.

The things you are mentioning are is it causing damage to the engine? What impact can it have

If it is a collapsed lash adjuster which is like a small hydraulic lifter it causes the cam follower (same as roller rocker arm) to be loose between the valve and lash adjuster. It could possibly cause the steel roller to break and lose it's bearings, become dislodged or worse. Just stay on the dealer about this or visit another dealer.

Thanks!

I have at two occasions realized that the engine has "shut off" during full throttle....

If the second dealer I am leaving the car at on tuesday don't find anything I will drive back the 370 miles to the dealer I bought the car from. They are the largest Mustang dealer in Europe. The car costs me 1400 USD a month in payments alone, will not have it if they are going to have the car for a longer period they have to take care of the finances.

One good thing.
At least your garage mechanics can concentrate on the car now.
And not football!
Haha, they did not play very well yesterday .....
I am going to schedule a new visit tomorrow, the tech working on the car is on vacay now though...
