2015 Mustang GT black base PP RECAROS
I guess the constant bombardment of suggested '18 mustang YouTube videos has ignited the desire to own the 2018 s550. Well I spent a good part of this past week looking to find what I want which is once again the black gt base pp manual. Though no recaros this time round. My interest in owning the '18 first starts with the refreshed looks(which i now find appealing)and pp rear spoiler, the added hp/torque, and the improvements to the mt82. I want to experience this new stuff and I can afford it at this time without financing. There is two gt's at Ford dealerships less than 15 miles away. Discounted prices are $34,700 and $33,600. I'm thinking of trading my current gt and was looking for some forum imput on trading vs selling. If I did go with trading can I get some ideas from the members on what to expect the dealers offer to be.?.My Gt is in excellent shape a '15 black base pp with recaros and 12,000 mi. An xpipe would be the only non removable mod I've done and the original back pirellis are on their last few hundred miles. I dont think I wish to go through the process of selling and if I do sell how much more value can I expect?
So coming home from work today the gt was driving very well and then it hit me. Ive had this car for 3 years and its been damn near perfect. Never a pop or rattle. No water leaks. The paint and body are great. No engine or trans issues. I have though a few times found my battery dead. The throttle response enhancer and xpipe have satisfied me this far so is 20 more ft lbs gonna matter? ..and finally..the '18 performance pack I guess is really the same as 15-17 and why did they not change the look of the pp wheel.. oh but they did for a different level pp.. The pp2..I would probably desire that next..sooner than I'd realize. .lol..comments and answers welcome.

My dealer gave me 23k for my 15 GT PP base (only 10k miles). The tax incentive for trading in was worth almost another 2k so all in all about 25k. I was hoping for closer to 27k but oh well. My 18 base A10 GT was discounted down to 32k so I did ok in the end. I did not want the PP this time since I am more interested in drag racing then track racing. I am also using this car as my DD this time. Very happy with the switch, this car stock sounds better and pulls harder then a lightly modded 15. With just a CAI and e85 tune it is faster then my FBO 15 was. You will not regret it (as long as the aluminum shift forks don't turn out to be as problematic as some are making them out to be).

If I could turn back time, I'd have waited on a purchase until I read enough about other's problems and proceed to turn & run. Though it's hard to gauge how many '18s will grenade from a percentage standpoint, I don't like wondering every 100 miles or so whether mine will be the next. Looming A/C problems, strange electronic issues, all possible.

You sound like you have actually thought this out. If you like your existing car, keep it. I owned a Supra and added power mods for 15 years and never got tired of it. Sold it and now I'm crying over that decision. That was the most reliable car I've ever owned.
Oh yeah, went through a few batteries too :)

A trade in value of around 25k would be nice..maybe the recaros could get it close to that

You and your '18 sound about like what I felt three years ago.
There was some issues with the new s550 and I held out as long as possible but eventually took the chance and got a nice example of the s550. Maybe you'll be lucky like I've been.

You can swap your Recaro with my leather seats before you trade it... :)

Trade your old Mustang in, & work out a "service deal" for your new car, instead of haggling over the price of the trade-in.

ie: free oil changes &/or alignments fist 15k miles, etc.
