At the time those Camaros were pretty good looking, but that time has gone. I'm not sure what "bring back" 4th gen Camaro even means. It's not iconic enough in it's looks to be recognizable as a "retro" look, and it's not really old enough to pull that off either.

One problem the Camaro has always had is an identity crisis. Mustangs have retained certain styling cues across the generations that make it identifiable as a Mustang. Even the much derided Mustang 2 has some very Mustang-esque styling in some areas. Corvettes have nice coherent styling over the years, so GM knows how to do it.

What defines Camaro styling?

This thread makes no sense at all. I honestly don't understand some of the pure Camaro hatred and the desire for it to go away from members on here. Like seriously, what has the Camaro done to negatively affect your life?
No one hates the car its the trolls.

When you’re comparing the two in sales remember the Pontiac firebird/trans am were the same thing so should be added to gm numbers.
I had a factory ordered 2000 firebird formula, a sleeper trans am. The car was amazing. Total garbage as the tranny went before I even got to 50k but was nice while it lasted.
I think I choose it over the mustang because the base level v8 was a lot more powerful (260 vs 305hp if I remember correctly) and I wanted the bitching t-tops lol

If Toyota won’t Bring back the MK IV Supra even with private company backing, I highly doubt GM would consider bringing back a 4th Gen Camaro. It would be a Niche market with a high price tag for old technology. The LS engine platform lives on though. It’s honestly the best bang for your buck motor.

Car totals are kept by brand name like Mustang, Challenger, camaro, Corvette. If you start combining different brands together you can come up with any sales number you like.

Can't find any sales figures for Firebird past 1981

I think the point being, the Camaro & Firebird/Trans Am were wholly the same car minus a few visual changes. There is a decent chance they're already combined.

Edit: And I don't hate it. It's just not for me - I've always been a Mustang fan since I was a kid and my dad had two. I also recognize having some sort of competition helps the Mustang improve as well.

Mustang and Capri were essentially the same car but Capri's sales number are not combined with Mustang's

Sales are by brand no matter how hard gm tries to combine them.

Camaro hater here :D ... this thread still makes no sense because:
1. Competition improves yada yada yada.
2. Allow people to like what they like no need for Camaro to go away, why wish to ruin someone's fun.

Exactly; Who cares what other people like?

True, but they also sold maybe 5 Capri's in the US.

^^ Obvious exaggeration before someone takes offense.

I'm kind of at a loss for words. This thread seems so pointless it hurts.

At one point he says the mustang is hands down the better car and statements like that are hard to read. We prefer the mustang sure but our preference doesn't make it hands down better .

Can no one just be happy and satisfied with their purchase? Do we need to attack and wish doom upon all those who don't agree with us?

I would never buy a Camaro because I've never liked their styling but I'm glad they exist. If it wasn't for them our mustangs wouldn't be so nice.

Also I've seen a faster horse and it's a great film and makes me proud to own a gt but idk if it's worth wishing death upon the Camaro name.

There was only 300 ever made and had hand built prototype motors with a large majority of non ford parts. Hardly on the same level as an F-body.

It still came from Ford from the factory.

So what I’m getting out of this is the Camaro will be more of a collector since there are fewer of them?
try and pick up one of the 50th anniversary cars, they will be worth a million bucks one day
