camaro fans want the return of the 4th gen

camaro fan boys on this Mustang web site keep saying they want a return of the 4th gen camaro it was there favorite. there probably the same ones gm asked about the 6th gen car. Well lets look at sales of the 4th gen camaro and the Mustang during the 4th gens life time.

So Mustang killed off camaro with 2002 the last year of production because gm wouldn't spend money on a car that wasn't making them money. And with the deep discounts on camaro and universally panned refresh looks like its headed to its second death.

From a performance standpoint in stock form, the Z28 and SS killed mustangs from 93 to 02... by 2002 GM was loosing money all around and had to cut certain models in order to save money.

My dad still has an 02 SS he bought new and id still take it over the 5th or 6th gen as well. My main gripe with the new ones is interior space. They are nicer and more refined just as the new mustangs are nicer than my fox. But i can live with the new mustang interior space. The inside of 5th and 6th gen camaro is way too cramped imo.

I don't really hate the camaro but the uber blind camaro lovers won't face the facts the Mustang is the better car hands down. camaro has almost always been the better performer and in the right hands can kick the Mustangs ass in racing but people don't buy race cars for daily driver. And the sales numbers show America loves the Mustang and camaro is just a tool. You need to watch A Faster Horse to be able to understand why I'm so passionate about Mustangs.

The 82 to 92 Camaro's were soooo much better looking then the fox bodies it wasn't funny. Still a good looking car even now with its long low profile(gee like the mustang now..) I owned an 86 Iroc and a 25th Anniversary. Loved both cars.

Really 4th gen? I'm it's hideous unless in Trans Am form but even that doesn't withstand father time. 1st and 3rd was the best cosmetically. Which to me makes up for most sales. Majority of buyers don't give a crap about performance specs.
