What’s the word on tunes for these?
Any improvement from bolting on without one?

it has an engine!
Above 7K. If you have a 7500RPM redline, the GT350 only has a 500RPM advantage while the 18 has a much greater advantage.

I love my PP3, but if Ford offered one with an 18IM, I'd probably go with that.
People should be going to 8k with the gt350. 7500 is a bit of a waste.

Agreed. If I pulled the trigger on that IM I'd be setting the redline to 8k.

If the car is running stock OPG/CGs - that I understand can be [more] motivated to fail due to high RPM - do you think a MY18 I/M with a 7500RPM peak is "safer" vs. a GT350 with 8K?

FWIW, I'm already running 7500RPM (max) with my current tune.

I'd kind of _assume_ lower rpm means a little more margin for error, and with the price difference, that's pretty enticing.

My understanding is that the stock OPGs and CGs are rated to 8000 NA. Boost is an entirely different story. An extra level of security would simply be getting an ATI crank damper.

2018 intake install complete. You have to adapt the vacume lines for the brake booster and for the evap purge. I used 3/8s fuel line for both. As for the imrcs the plugs for the position sensors are different and require to be replaced and rewired. Haven't got the final tune revision yet as I am working out of town hopefully by next Friday everything will be finished and it will go back to the dyno for before/after numbers.

Would be nice if someone can do a male to female extension so we don't have to modify the factory cabling. I would gladly pay for it.

The pigtails I ordered where motorcraft repair kits. They came with non insulated splices that you crimp and fill with solder and then heat shrink to cover it. It turned out very nice and is exactly what ford would use in the case that you have a harness failure.

I'm pretty sure the pins were differnt sizes. Didn't pay that much attention to it. I repair electrical wiring all the time in some of the nastiest conditions you can think of so cutting the factory harness didn't bother me. I just knew the heat shrink needed to seal good to prevent corrosion. If you take your time and cover it all back up with wire loom you can't tell a difference. I looked for a way to make an adapter but could find a plug to match up but I didn't spend days and days looking. I had already waited 2 weeks for the pig tails from ford so I just wanted to put the manifold on.

Will you make me a set when I'm ready to install mine?
