This is my sole and 100% reason for buying manual - it's just more fun, period.

Do you see the issue here ? :p

lol I see the argument you're making, and I'm fully aware that which transmission is more "fun" is a subjective question. That being said, I'd bet that the vast majority of people would agree that a stick is more fun to drive, even if they themselves chose the auto for other reasons. I've literally never seen anyone ever claim that they went with an auto because autos are more fun; I can't count how many times I've seen people say they chose the stick because it's more fun.

Yeah, you're wrong. :p

To be honest, this being my first 400+hp car I can definitely see an auto being easier to maintain for street/daily driving in turn making it more enjoyable once you're pushing the 600+hp range... but until then I'll always see myself rowing through the gears if I have a choice :D

I think that for some people, the importance of having a stick in a stang is as important as having a v8 in it.

Now now there’s enough auto vs manual threads this isn’t a debate thread . I was simply wondering if manual drivers would change to the 10 speed after driving it. If you haven’t drove the 10 speed then I suggest doing that and then come back and report lol :)

I was planning on the manual (I've driven manuals for most of my life). I test drove a 17 6MT and did not like the way it shifted. I could have gotten used to it I'm sure.
I drove the a10 and it's very impressive. I will miss the fun of shifting, but as I said before...since it's a DD I won't miss it too much in SoCal traffic.

Well that's prolly because the MT people are louder and always seem to have the last word :p

Times are changing, sure previous auto's haven't been the best, but with all these dual clutch and 8+ auto's things have definitely changed. They can provide a different kind of fun which arguably wasn't possible before with older auto's.

Remember that you said this if the time ever comes when 8/9/10 speed automatics are all shelved in favor of CVTs, and it's the CVT fans trying to make the same point.

I think moto knows where I stand, and with that said the 10A as demonstrated in the ZL1 Nurburgring run is the closest thing yet to an automatic I could imagine myself living with.

So i plan on ordering a new 18 next month. I test drove a 6mt and a 10 speed back to back. I have always been a 6 speed person but holy shit the 10 speed hauls . I may convert. Anyone else converting from stick to the auto and why?

Im perfectly capable of rowing my own still I'm just really impressed for a stock auto mustang to be that quick
Hahaha! I know you. You go through Mustangs like I go through underwear. You bought my Slingshot. What'd you do with it?

Ya I was dead set on a 6 speed but damn the auto . And damn that active exhaust I have never heard a stock mustang sound so good. Almost don’t need to change
You mustn't have heard a GT350 then. :D

I'd still want a stick but ... I haven't driven the A10 so who knows.

I dig this Video. Gives you a idea on how nice the A10 is :headbang:
