Hey fellas,
So with the 2018 models coming out with impressive looking power and acceleration stats, I was doing some thinking about getting a more lively throttle response and a little more power on my 2015. What is the general consensus (lol) on the most value for money that will get me a little closer to the feel of a 2018 model (automatic), understanding of course that the new transmission accounts for a good chunk of that improvement.

1) Lund Ngauge + tune
2) Ford Power Pack 2
3) ??

Budget is about $1K including installation (I can do it myself if necessary).
Thanks!

I test drove a 2018 A10 GT today. I have a 2016 3.73 M6 with a PMAS intake, Lund E85 tune and my car feels stronger than the 2018 did. I smashed it and took it up to 100+ a few times. Maybe measurements (dyno) say otherwise but my car most certainly smashes me into the seat more than the 2018 did and pulls harder. That could also be related to having the 3.73 gears.

Between my intake (got it used), SCT tuner (got it used) and lund tune, I have $500 into the performance of my car. I haven't felt like spending anymore because I felt like after that I am just chasing a few extra WHP for way too much money. You are getting your best bang for your buck from a tune, the rest is just chasing a little power here and there. The only way I would buy intake, intake manifold or headers would be if you were getting an extremely good deal on them.

I would go with cat deletes before headers. Unless you are doing the install yourself, headers is a $1800+ mod between cost of exhaust and install for maybe 25-35whp. Cat deletes which cost $300 and maybe another $150 to get installed will get you almost near the same power. To me, that's just a way better bang for your buck if you want to go that route.

For time being and until people shake out whats interchangeable and fits vs. what doesnt id stick to the pre 2018s the aftermarket is gigantic for them.

The 2018s will be too in due time but id rather let others sort out the 2018s until at least after next summer.

Just my 2 cents.

In the meantime ill toss the CJ mani exhaust E85 and tune in mine and see how well the 2018s keep up LOL.

Yes this does get confusing.. So what kind of power are you looking at if you go with a good tune, intake and cat deletes? What is it vs the PP2 or PP3? I don't see cat deletes or headers as an option for the Ford power packs... And why does Ford change the throttle body on the Pp2 and 3 yet most tuners want the stock one? Uhhg so confusing... Do you make good power with a Pmas or Jlt intake and cat deletes with tune? Or is the pp2 and 3 more powerful?? Lol goodness gracious!

Forgot to mention I'm in CA, so CAT deletes not an options and pretty much all CAIs are out of the question too except for the one with PP2.
So I guess the Lund Tune with Ngauge vs PP2 are a similar price.
Is the "Flex Fuel" tune worth it for someone in CA stuck with 91 octane gas at the pump?
Can I drop a full tank of E85 into my car with the Flex Fuel tune and revert back to 91 with no issues?
Thanks!

I went with cat deletes and haven't had any issues with my set up, see sig. Flex Fuel tune is great! you can run one tune and use 91 , E85, or any mixture in between. The tune automatically adjust as you go.

Thanks! Sounds like the Flex Fuel option is worth the extra scratch...

Sure is! My car put down 426 hp 396 TQ with my setup over at GTR in Rancho Cucamonga. Well worth it if you have a E85 station near by. Just beware that you will be stopping to fuel up sooner than you're used to. ON 91 I get about 340 miles per tank, but on E85 I get about 210! But then again, it's now about $1.00 less per gallon so it's alright.
