I did 4 years in Naples, its a bad place. I loved Northern Italy

Naples is no worse than Chicago, New York, Detroit, Los Angeles is any other large US city. Ever go to Vomero, Merghellina or Pozzuoli in Naples?

People show up in Naples at the Garibaldi Train Station which is a terrible area full of shady pick pockets and Vu Cumpra (Africans) selling fake everything. It's like showing up in the Bronx in NYC and judging the city based on this area.

I have been to Napoli many times and a lot of people knock it who don't have a clue. Probably the best food in all of Italy. Especially if you love seafood. My friends live there and it's a great place if you know where to go and not go. Arancini, sfogliatelli, Naples pizza, Antipasto frutta di mare etc.

I get a little sensitive when people knock Naples because there's no way they know the city like I do.

:amen: seems you had a good experience, and i'm glad about it.
For sure the Criminality level is higher than other big cities like Torino, Milano and Roma, but as you correctly stated, it depends alot where you go in Naples, there are places like Scampia, Secondigliano, Cercola that have an extremely high level of Criminality, and some Area are alot better.
As far the Food, Totally agree with you, seafood especially.. it's awesome
