I had to drive down to Tucson from Chandler for a work event. It was close to 100 miles each way. Our highway speed is 75mph but everyone here runs 85+. I chose to run 85, with rpm's at 2600, and avg mpg at 22mpg. At first I found the exhaust to be a little much but after my headache subsided, I was not bothered by it. The entire way there and back I owned the fast lane. It was pretty much clear the entire way. The sound at that speed and confidence of the stability was irreplaceable enjoyment. I felt like nothing I've driven in the last 12 years had this kind of reward. It was a 90 minute drive each way but it felt like 30 minutes. I ran into a few hooligans but nothing to go into detail. I did find a leach on the way back. It was a Porsche Panamera Turbo staying close on my 6. At some point we split up and we gave each other the

I can't wait for long road trips. That's where this car belongs.

Any of you have a similar experience yet?

Have driven from NC down to Tampa and Miami, FL a few times. I agree, this car was meant for the open road and cruising trips. Traffic on I-95 moves at a pretty rapid pace. I was doing 80-90 mph most of the trip. Probably got around 26-27 mpg. But the stability is really good on this car at ANY speed. It feels confident when driving fast. Plus, how else am I going to use 6th gear(3.31) if I don't go fast lol. :D

I had just driven down to Charlotte NC last weekend from DC (about 400 miles one way). Between 75 - 85 mph, I got nearly 27 mpg (2016 GT w/ PP). I was impressed at the mileage and relative comfort

Agreed. This is a great GT car (Grand Tourer). I've taken mine from Charleston, SC to Atlanta, Charleston to Charlotte, twice, and Charleston to Orlando several times. Six hours is no issue, even in a GT/PP.

When I do long trips, I air up the tires to 36 PSI cold, then go back down to 33 PSI when I arrive, and get slightly better gas mileage.

I've done GA to IN (750 miles one way) and back a few times in my '16 GT PP. Really enjoyable drive in this car. I've gotten 25mpg on a few tanks on those trips.

Drive that stretch of hwy a few times a month. I avoid going over 80mph because of all the cops. Use the Waze app to help avoid some traps and let others know. One day hope to hit hwy 191 by Morenci. that stretch of road looks amazing.

If you ever drive to Vegas there are a few places before NV that have zero cops. Easy to get the car over 140mph.

About two months after I got mine I drove from GA to Ft Worth TX to have the Stripes put on. 1800 Miles Round trip and she averaged around 24 MPG.

I have driven up to Vegas but not in something fun. I look forward to that drive some day.

Reading everyone else's mpg posts at similar speed, I'm sure the tune from Saleen has something to do with my results. I better dyno my car to see if there's really any hp advantage.

My MPGs average 22-23 and I do a lot of hwy driving and fill my tank twice a week. My engine is stock except for the Mishi induction tube, and that appears to only have dropped my MPG by 0.1 or 0.2.

Wonder who all here is going off what the computer calculates compared to what you hand calculate. The computer ain't accurate.

Ive driven 5 of these cars, and all of them had a vibration/noise at 70+, and felt good, but not inspiring at high speeds. Im used to cars that feel like they tighten up at higher speeds and feel more solid. Was going to switch to a manual GT, but now im thinking camaro

Sounds like you either have bad luck or can't drive. The S550 is straight as an arrow at 100+ mph. Most planted car I've ever driven. No vibration, only thing I hear when going that fast is a little wind noise.

That's why all the numbers on this thread are so inflated.

Ebm I do hand calculate at fill up. Based on the computer for now, since I filled up last night, it was 22ish.
codemanstang if you want a car that tightens up at higher speeds, from my experience, Audi. Audi is the most solid platform I've owned. Maybe the Quattro has something to do with it.
