We are proud to announce the release of our 19" 6UL line. We are small company based in Southern California that has been engineering race specific 15 and 17" designs for the last 12 years. Our 15" line sets the standard for race wheels in that diameter. The tooling we built for the 19's is optimized for the GT350. This means our proprietary 6UL spoke design with perfect brake clearance and best possible strength to weight ratio in A356.2 casting alloy. Not a generic tool design in some factory catalog or cast replica of the carbon GT350R wheel.

Specs for the 19" 6UL
19x10 +37 23.8 lbs
19x11 +50 24.7 lbs
19x11 +24 GT350 Front 25.6 lbs
19x11.5 +56 GT350 Rear 24.5 lbs

Load rating vs mass
These are actual maximum weights, with cap and valves. Wheels average a bit lower. This is at our JWL+10 load rating, which no other wheel on the market is engineered or VIA certified for. That we are in the same raneg or lighter than all other flow formed wheels of the same size/offset at higher load rating shows the inherent strength to weight ratio of the now 12 year old 6UL design. Roughly speaking, adding load rating directly corresponds to wheel mass. For example, take a 10 lb wheel rated for 500kg, increase it's load rating by 10% to 550kg and the weight will become about 11 lb. The takeaway from this is that if the 19" 6UL were engineered to the same lower standard as other flow formed wheels on the market, it would be 10% lighter.

Theoretical weights of standard load rated 19" 6UL (if we engineered to JWL standard instead of 10% higher)
19x10 +37 21.4#
19x11 +50 22.2#
19x11 +24 23#
19x11.5 +56 22.3#

Our goal was a no compromise race wheel. Track wheels get bent, that is a fact of life. The stronger we can make them, the longer your investment will last. We have managed this without compromising brake clearance, stiffness or weight. So yeah, we're pretty proud of these :)

From the website:

The all new 19" 6UL represents a clean sheet design based on our now iconic 6 U shaped spoke pattern. For the larger 18 & 19" sizes we increased the max load rating 10% over industry standard. We have the only 18 or 19" wheel on the market that is VIA certfied for 10% greater impact, radial fatigue and cornering fatigue load. A few other brands use the standard load rating and simply run the test for more cycles on one criteria, not all three. The 18 and 19 6UL wheels have the greates strength to weight ratio
of any wheel on the market today. This translates to a stiffer wheel which means better steering response and less camber load deflection.

Bead knurling & dual valves
The 18 & 19" 6UL retain the 6UL standard knurled bead and dual valve configuration. The knurled bead helps to keep the newly mounted tire from rotating on the wheel, which can cause an imbalance condition. The second valve is located at 180° is used for purging moisture laden air from dirty tire shop air compressors. This moisture creates large temperature and pressure fluctations under high performance driving conditions which can create handling imbalances and loss of grip. We prefer nitrogem purging when it is available but a dry air source will also work.

Caliper Clearance
All 6UL wheels are designed for a minimum of .120 (3mm) staitic clearance to target brake caliper. On the GT350, we upped that to .200 (5mm). We have seen, particularly on the GT350 Mustang, that some aftermarket wheels have less than .060 (1.5mm) static brake clearance. This is insuffcient to allow proper airflow and gravel debris clearance. Even the stiffest wheels flex under 1G+ cornering loads which can lead to intermittent contact between the bareel and brake system if inadequate clearance is engineered in. The 19" 6UL wheel set for the GT350 has a minimum of 5mm clearance at the caliper and a whopping 10mm in the barrel.

Finishes
949 Racing wheels are currently offered in four painted finishes. We have not decided which finish and size combinations we will make in the first small production run
Beryllium, show in pics here. This is a gray metallic paint with a very slight blue tint. Cool gray.
Tungsten. This is a chrome like painted finish that is dark.
Charcoal is satin black.
Bronze is glossy metallic bronze. To be differentiated with the various matte yellow-brown metallic finishes the wheel industry calls bronze. The matte yellow-brown represent oxidized bronze. Our bronze attemps to mimic the coppery-gold sheen of polished bronze.

Visit our website for images of the other finishes. We won't have pics of the other finishes on the S550 until the next bath of wheels arrives here in June, 2018

Lugs, valves
We offer a billet forged 7075 T-6 alloy lug for the S550. It uses a 21mm socket. The wheels have a lug hole large enough to use an impact socket so no difficulties there. For thos that might question how rugger our lugs are, consider that our race team has been using them for over a decade. We have won several national championships in road race, TT and endurace. Won the Thunderhill 25hrs twice, lap records all over the country. All on these lugs, pounded on and off with impact guns. You're not going to hurt them.

Our alloy valve uses a proprietary high temp core, appropriate for use in a competition environment. We strongly recommend the use of metal valves for track use, whether they are ours or not. We offer our lugs and valves in a few different colors, visit the website for more info. The OEM S550 TPMS sensor is gray, which our gray valve nearly matches.

September 2017:
We are in the CAD phase of development for our 19" 6UL's. The first variants will be 11 & 11.5 for the GT350. Specs for the GT350 wheel will be exact GT350R dimensions and offset. Just after will be 19x10 and 19x11 for the other S550's. Below is an uncolored CAD rendering of the 6UL. It will change a bit before final production but this gives you and idea of what it will look like. We hope to have wheels here by January 2018 or thereabouts. No specs, weights or prices yet. We will update this thread as we get closer to production then start a new thread when the wheels are ready. 18's will be closer to summer 2018.

All 6UL wheels are LP cast a356.32 alloy and flow formed. VIA certified at industry standard loads, 690kg in this case. We are targeting 10% above VIA standards for this wheel, 760kg. That may not seem like much but the few structural engineers that understand fatigue life and duty cycles know that 10% is huge. We build race wheels, plain and simple. Folks use them on the street because they look neat but we live and breathe competition at 949 Racing.

Ball park, $299, 25 lbs. All details TBD

A friend of ours (thanks Alan!) took our 4 lug 17x9" 6UL, scaled it up and photshopped it onto a GT350. His car is Magnetic Gray so I'm not sure why he chose the Avalanche. Anyway, fun to look at and ponder. The hub area on the production wheel will be a bit larger diameter than this 'shop.

Here is another shop with our 5 lug 17". Slightly different spoke profile. The 4 lug above will be closer to the final production 19" 6UL.

For those of you not familiar with our current finishes.

Beryllium. This is a gray metallic finish with a very slight blue tint.

Charcoal is satin black. The color of brake dust :)

Tungsten is a gray chrome like appearance. This is our "bling finish. It is shiny enough to be able to define your fingerprint in the reflection.

Bronze is just that, glossy metallic with a hint of copper.

Great news. I was just looking at these the other day, hoping to see a S550 fitment. I understand the logic behind planned sizes, but I wish there was also a 10.5 planned. I feel that is the perfect size for a square fitment.

We will offer an 18x9.5, 18x10, 18x11 6UL after we release the GT350 wheel. 18" present better and lower-cost tire options for the S550. The 18s would be arriving Q2 of 18. The GT350 is limited to 19" wheels due to its brake size.

19 x 10 or 10.5 for square fitment on a GT in black. Close to your ball park price will be a motivator.

This particular 19" tooling will be limited to 10.5" +43 or 10" +37 as its narrowest S550 fitments. The 10.5 will work for some but the 10" is a bit too low offset to work without issues.

The GT350 fitments which are the main subject of this thread are essentially getting a purpose-built tool. To really optimize those fitments means making necessary compromises that will affect other potential fitments. Platform and application specific tools are what our little company does best. The "Racing" in our name is not just there because it sounds cool :) We run our own racing series and it is in our blood. While the 19 in for the GT presents a more stylish option for some customers we feel that most hardcore track and autocross S550 owner's will benefit by being given 18" options first.

? Optimum square offset seems to be +35-ish. +43 is a bit too high to fit the widest tire without spacers.

Just the same, we aren't developing 19" fitments for the non GT350 at this time. First the 19" GTG350 variant then competition oriented 18" fitments for the S197 and S550.

As I mentioned before, I understand that some owners want 19" fitments for the non-GT350 S550, we just won't be focused on them for now.

Any chance of regular GT350 wheel specs? I need stock width wheels (10.5/11) for autocross that aren't absurdly heavy like the OEM wheels.

No plans for a 19x10.5.

Are the non GT350 wheels in 18" going to work with the performance pack 6 pistons?
SOP around here is to engineer any fitment around the biggest brake available for that application.

19" 6UL S550 fitments

Tentative fitment for the first production run arriving January 2018

19x10 +37 Square S550. If using camber bolts you might need a small spacer up front depending on tire choice

19x11 +50 square race fitment S550. Close clearance up front. Fine tune with spacers depending on alignment, bolts, tire choice.

19x11 +24 GT350 fitment, front
19x11.5 +56 GT350 fitment, rear

- VIA standard load rating for this size/PCD is 680kg. We are engineering for 10% above that, rounded up to 770kg
- Low pressure cast flow formed just like all 6UL's
- Lug pocket is 31mm to use our forged alloy 21mm hex alloy lugs with an impact socket
- Dual valve for nitrogen purging like all 6UL's
- Knurled bead to reduce tire rotation on the rim, like all 6UL's

Initial run will likely be our painted Beryllium finish, which is a gray metallic finsih with a very slight cool blue tint. If there is enough interest, we will add our blingy Tungsten finish which is best described as gray chrome.

I just did 19x10 with 35 offset. Worked out perfect. Ran 295/35 squared.
