How many, on this forum, think they will be repeat buyers in the next year or two. Will Mustang attract enough repeat buyers to keep RHD production viable in the future, or will Mustang die like the Monaro? Has the heavy discounting left a bad taste in peoples mouth?

I plan upgrading to the S650 when (if) it arrives in Australia around 2021.

If it doesn't, I'll keep my 2016 for a long time to come.

I'm thinking the same way. I wonder if RHD is locked in for S650.

No, before the S550 was announced I was looking at a 71 Mach 1 as a long term keeper so mine is still a long term keeper. It's not my daily driver and I won't be parting with it until I am too old to drive it.

Probably about 2021 as well, if it has similar upgrades that the 2018 has over the 2015-17 then it should be an awesome car.

Mine is my daily driver so I put a few KM's through mine.

I'm planning to update when my 2016 is 4 years old. Will just have to see where the update timelines fall. Still in love with this one though.

I'm most likely going to keep this one. I'll look at the S650 if it comes here but I think it will be out of my reach pricewise as I near retirement in 6 to 7 years time.

I'll just enjoy my S550, second car I've ever modded, and I love it going for my Sunday drives.

Also, my 7 year old daughter, helps me wash it and she's my little "petrolhead"!! She's already asking me to leave the Mustang to her when I go to heaven!!

So, essentially, I'll be keeping it.

I'm getting the feeling, that a lot of Mustang's are being bought by baby boomers, as weekend toy's and as a one time purchase.

I'll either be keeping mine long term or getting rid of it fairly quickly. Either way I won't be buying another.

I keep my cars at least 3 years, unless I really dislike them, so in 2020 the S650 will be right around the corner but there's a rumour it'll be a hybrid. No way I'd ever buy a hybrid, I don't believe in the concept. All electric sure, but hybrids (with a few exotic exceptions) don't make sense to me.

Even if it's not a hybrid I doubt it'll offer anything to entice me into upgrading. I'd be more inclined to update my daily instead.

Yes I will get another.

Sold mine in Feb and recouped my money. I've got a deposit down on a 2018 but am tempted to get a new 2017 GT runout now that than can be had for under $55K

A 2018 with a new front end is IMO better then a 2017. However yeah the 2018 will cost more for a while, plus if you plan on modding then part support will lag a bit, depending on how much stuff is changed so how much work is required by the manufacturers to update their product line, but if you keep it stock that isn't an issue.

Replacing the front end though basically removes the ugliness and keeps you with all the under the hood upgrades.

I am 64 now live in country Victoria and have been retired for many years. I class myself as a motoring enthusiast as I love driving and riding.
My 2017 Lightning Blue Manual Hardtop is my first Ford and I love it.
It is only driven every 2 or 3 weeks and I will keep it until I am no longer able to drive or die.
I bought it because it was the best looking affordable performance car I have seen for a long time.
I am very happy with the vehicle I like it's lack of nanny safety electronics and the way I can configure it's software to suite my requirements with "ForScan".
I have always wanted a Mustang but after driving a couple of older LHD converted mustangs I thought they were rubbish and I kept on buying SS Commodores.
I have (since I was 21) always had a V8 performance car.
I have kept an old VX SS Manual as a daily driver, I also have a Toyota 79 V8 4X4 Ute Set up for touring and a touring motorcycle as well.

Mines a daily driver and I have had it for 1 year last week. Still get that smile every time I get into it. I could spend $150,000 on something European and not get the attention that this thing gets. Sure the finish isn't up to European or Australian car standards - but it's a Mustang!:)

Yep, recon I've been a Holden supporter ever since I knew the difference. Dad got his first Holden in 1968, but I can remember Doug Chivas pushing Peter Brocks Torana into the pits in 1973 and I was already a fan then.

Well I'm custodian of my Mustang until my grandson turns 25 (then he gets it), so I cannot sell it. Too bad I have to look after it for another 23 years. Moral of the story is "Don't drink too much red wine and promise babies gifts, when others are listening"
I wouldn't sell it anyway. Waited too long to get one.
I would like to watch the Mustang evolve through the future generations and I think there will be a constant but slightly less demand in the RHD countries to justify its continuance.
