From my limited experience at the strip, 1/8th mile only here, and only one day with about 12-13 runs, best I managed in the 1/8th was an 8.355 at 92.7mph on a 2.25 60ft.

Tried using drag mode and launch control at all sorts of different rpms from 4000 all the way to 6000. 60fts ranged from the best of 2.25 all the way to 2.6, but the track wasn't prepped great.

I was getting wheel hop on a lot of runs, and came to the conclusion that the OEM launch control is a bit of a gimmick. Just doesn't do a good job limiting torque and the traction control system in drag mode isn't quick enough for an aggressive launch. It would hop off the line but spin, and then the car would fully wait until it settled down before even giving the car any throttle again.

I'm going to the next event on the 16th locally and am going to try 2500-3000rpms with quick throttle application after a slight slip of the clutch. Though I may try LC since I got the MPSS on now, in Track Mode as the TC is much more lenient and will allow more spinning. Should be able to get a 1.7-1.8 60ft on these cars as others already have, just difficult to launch properly. I know it's not a drag car but no track here so got to have some fun when ya can!

But by the sounds of it I probably would have made a 12.5ish pass based on my 1/8th time and yours :)

I also experienced wheel hop on most of the runs resulting in me throttling off, you can hear the wheel hop in second gear as well but I kept er down anyway on that particular run

In all honesty that sounded like typical tire squeal during your 1-2 shift and didn't hop that hard off the line. Try LC at 6K with much stickier tires on stock suspension LOL

Might not be a car suited for drag racing but it makes a dam good noise doing it :D

Hate trying to launch this car. For autox runs I usually resign myself to bogging the motor as it's faster then lighting up the tire's.

A good launch technique in this car is so dependent on track surface, tire's and tire temps. What works good on some surfaces sucks on others. This applies to all cars of course but the high rpm nature of this motor coupled with tall gearing and IRS make it especially sensitive.

Good luck and have fun at the strip.
