If you can't afford the newer better mustang, or don't think the value is there, get some other car.
Is this a millennial thing? Constant complaining!

Why is that always a millennial thing? I notice baby boomers complain the most, actually, of really any group.

Again, not sure why that attack on an entire generation segued from one post.

And for the matter, the OP is right. The Mustang GT, in the GT state, is NOT worth 60k. This is something worthy of pointing out in a forum, full of various opinions, like your's.

No it's not worth 60k. I added every option available and it came out under 55k MSRP. Any negotiating skills or xplan will get it substantially less.

The optioned out 2018 I want costs 43-45k MSRP. Again, cheaper with xplan or any basic bargaining skills.

I find that acceptable...I don't need every option just because it is available.

If you don't think so, why are you here?

It will be interesting to see where the 2019 Supra comes out pricing wise. I had a MK3 Supra (1986.5). Supra's were priced slightly (but not excessively) above the Mustang/Camaro in the 80's, and the 2019 is rumored to start around 40K. It certainly will not come out with HP numbers that will challenge a Mustang, but everything will fit and work reliably for a couple hundred K miles.

nope the 300A and 301A doesn't come with a digital cluster even the pictures for both packages show the analog cluster.
301A comes with the digital cluster standard if Premium model

I think people are mixing terms. There is the 12" digital instrument cluster which replaces the analog gauges and only comes with the premium 401A package, and then there is the 4.2" center cluster which sits between the analog speedo/tach and comes with everything from 301A up.

That might have been true of early Supras but the last gen was significantly more than any Mustang at the time - close to double. There's no way the new Supra will be anywhere close to $40k. Nicely equipped with 400hp I'll bet more like $55-60K. The cheapest Lexus RC with a 4 banger starts over $40k and runs up to almost $100k for the 470hp model. You really think Toyota will offer a 350-400hp performance coupe for $40k? Even if they toss a dull 4 cl turbo in the car it's not likely - especially with the BMW tie-in.

An interesting point. Toyota priced themselves out of their own market with the Mk4. As popular as they are in movies, those things just sat on the lots at Toyota dealers and were a sales failure. I remember the articles about how nobody wanted a sports coupe anymore. No, just nobody wanted a $40,000 Toyota in 1993. But hey, it was still 15-25K less than a 911 in 93, right? It doesn't matter how great your product is when you jump out of your market segment. A lesson to be learned?

Nobody but Toyota knows what their pricing scheme will be, but I would assume entry level would be a turbo 4, working it's way up from there. A Z4 starts just under $50K. I would assume that Toyota would at least try to price below the BMW version, but I certainly don't know. Maybe they will price it starting at $60-70K and after the initial hype wears off they will once again find them sitting on lots for months.

People complaining about price and then specifying the auto box, magneride and active exhaust. If you want to save money learn to use three pedals (save money and enjoy yourself more), get used to a harder suspension (it's a performance car) and don't worry about having an exhaust with a quiet mode.

Precisely why I bought a base pp GT. Paid about $23K usd :D Spent the rest on mods. Loloing over here at how much people actually are willing to pay for a Mustang

Toyota fit and finish today isn't really any better than the other Japanese manufacturers, IMO. The base Supra is not supposed to be the Mustang GT competition. If a base Z4 is $50k, I am guessing the base Supra will be around $45k. The 6cyl Supra that will be the real performer could be more inline with GT350 pricing. That is, if the rumor of a hybrid system is false. If it is a hybrid, add another $5k minimum. I doubt Mustang GT fans will be cross shopping with Supras. We still miss the fact that someone who just wants a base performance car can purchase the GT for $33k (x-plan).

How much a car is worth is subjective. It varies from person to person. A price tag on something could NEVER be objective.

Maybe the Mustang is no longer a "cheap bargain." Maybe Ford is actually charging what they originally should have charged. Maybe Ford is finally making an upscale sports car. Judging by the interior alone, the S550 blows away ANY OTHER Mustang in history in that department. So in all reality, the S550 is probably worth the price.

Not go down... but not go up by the amount it did for a refresh.

How is a mid-cycle refresh major? I will say the amount of times I come across your posts, it's usually you that's whining about people having different opinions regarding the 2018 than what you have. Just go buy your damn car and stfu.

Back in the mid 90's, a GT could be had OTD for what... $27k or so? And the Supra closer to $40k? $40k is a lot of money back then for something impractical. Not very hard to figure out why sales wise it was a failure.

The new Supra will probably start at $50k.
