Just installed a Bama V2 race tune on my 2017 GT. Took it for a ride and really didn't notice much difference. It's hot and muggy outside. Did a 0-60 test and immediately shattered my best time by .2 seconds with a slight bog.
So I guess it is faster!!
Questions

Why is the rev limiter still kicking in at just before 7000 rpm?

Also I have a 170 deg thermostat and when I idle in the driveway the fans don't come on until I have reached like 215 degs cyl head temp. Shouldn't the fans come on sooner?

Thanks

Uninstall it...Get a Lund tune and really shatter your previous bests. LOL

Seriously though, the air conditions aren't helping.

What tuner are you using? You should have the ability to change rev limits and fan controls.

Bama says it should be set at 7400 and I should wait and see if it adjusts. Doesn't seem right to me. I can adjust it manually but not the fan settings.

I have nothing good to say, but how are they still selling tunes?

Overall the tune drives perfect. Broke my best 0-60 by .2 seconds on first try in 100 deg weather. Can't complain. Just wondering about the rev limiter and fan settings.
They sell tunes because you get them included with the SCT for $399 with revisions. Hard to beat that and for a stock car like mine , I'm sure it will be fine.

Kinda my point for my ditch BAMA comment. They have really gone downhill lately. Telling you that a rev limit will self adjust???? :/

I'm guessing it's not going to adjust. LOL. Just wondering why? Tech pulled up the file and said it is set at 7400. Should I reflash ? I know everyone likes Lund on this forum and if I get a blower I would go with them.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this.

Thanks

Takes a lot of revisions to get anything done right from BAMA

Are you sure the tune flashed? Sounds like the stock rev limiter @ 7 grand even. Either way, you really dont want to be revving past 7 grand on the stock intake manifold anyway. Power drops substantially after 6500 RPM. I would do some data logging and ensure that the tune you were provided was indeed flashed.

^^ Really? Why would tuners like Lund raise limiters to 7500 if it would affect performance?
I have Lund FF tune without an aftermarket intake manifold and my car feels really strong all the way up to 7500 rpms but i never dyno'd the car.

I will reflash it tomorrow and set the limiter at 7300. Pulls hard right to limiter. Feels like it should be shifted at around 7 for best dragstrip time. Don't like hitting the limiter unless I make a mistake.
Question- There are 2 settings for limiter. One is for neutral and the other in gear. Set them both the same?

Check out the Dyno Compilation thread at the top of the Bolt Ons section. You Definitely don't want to be revving to 7500 on the stock manifold! 7,000 tops! Power drops substantially after 6500 and like a rock after 7000~!

Here's a good example:

youre still getting the gear benefits of being a lower gear. check out engineering explained. he shows that running out the gear is better than shifting at a peak power point
