hey so recently I installed a HP Ngauge in my A/C vent of my 6gen coyote. I have noticed that it will freeze on the menu screen at times with the A/C running ( the gauge gets super cold) on any normal 80 degree day. I have been searching for a better mount for the A/C vent itself but haven't had any luck. I've also haven't seen anyone else with this problem so maybe its just the Ngauge itself? Idk but it only happens with the A/C on when the gauge gets cold. JW if anyone has any suggestions. my only thought is to maybe block off the plumbing before it gets to the vent. :ninja:

Without the vent there to direct air, it is not only getting the ngauge cold (or hot) but also redirecting air in places it shouldn't be. I noticed lots of condensation forming inside the speedometer, the PP center gauges, and all along the trim panel. I've read about stuffing a rag down the vent tube but didn't like the idea of having something in there for mold to grow on once it got moist. I used some metal HVAC tape (not "duct tape"....the real stuff used on AC ducting) to seal off the vent and it's working great. I think it's important to seal off the vent one way or another when the ngauge is placed there.

Word. I just bought an angled mount off of jonathan's performance. so ill be taking the vents back off. ill prob switch it to the middle vent instead of the one closes to the driverside too. im sure I can find something at the hardware store to block the vent off

Could you give a little more information about where and how you put the tape?
Thanks

Well I consulted with the pillow and this morning I changed the installation of the nGauge.
Since I had disassembled the central a/c vent register, I have disassembled it completely and eliminated the shutter that opens or closes the air duct and I have mounted the nGauge along with the adapter that comes included in its place.
This eliminates the need to introduce some kind of material into the ventilation duct to prevent condensation and unwanted airflow, I can also easily access the sd card, and aesthetically I like the result.

+1 to this as I may be getting an NGauge myself. I would imagine you just covered the rear area of the vent hole with the gauge with the AC vent tape, but how would that prevent the air from going to places it shouldn't? If anything, that would increase the amount of air going to "other places" as now it wouldn't be able to leak past the gauge into the cabin. Thanks.

At the moment I haven't put any kind of tape in the ventilation duct. I think the nGauge covers the air outlet to the cabin, just like it would when you close that shutter and keep others open.
Anyway we will have to wait until it is hotter in summer and see if there is some kind of problem.

What do you think are the most important data to see in the nGauge windows?

It’s been a while since I did this but I’ve had zero issues in the past couple years so I still recommend this approach. Once you take the trim panel and shuttered vent piece off it will be obvious. If I recall correctly there is a duct that runs to the vent. Just seal off the duct completely with proper HVAC tape. Adhere it to one side of the duct, over the opening, then adhere it to the other side completely blocking it off. Even with the blower on full speed it does not leak any air at all

Is this still holding up well? I'm looking to get this one since my dashboard mount has become annoying now constantly coming off
It actually flew out of the dash on launch a couple years ago and I switched to one that locks behind the trim panel

Thanks for the response. Do you have any link of the one you're referring to ?
