Is there a difference between the normal one from HP and the Lund branded? I know you can get them in a package with a tune from Lund but if I could get a non branded one for cheap would there be an issue with putting a Lund tune on a non-Lund branded nGauge.

Thanks.

The Lund Racing nGauge gauge offers advanced datalogging capabilities than the standard nGauge.

So if you plan on using Lund Racing for your tuning it would be in your best interest to use their gauge.

Hope that helps. Jared

I guess they are all made by http://www.e-motionproducts.com/products/nGauge.html not HP Tuners like I originally thought.

I was reading some things about the file types that the nGauge uses and that Tuners can encrypt files or tunes that they send you. Makes sense of course so you can't "mess" with their tune and screw it up OR reverse engineer it. I used to tune my DSMs years and years ago and I like the thought of doing my own tuning but don't think I want to do the studying necessary for these engines. I just hate the thought of being locked into one tuner or constantly paying for new tunes.

With Lund Racing you pay one time and receive free updates for bolt-ons. So if you add lets say some headers or a different intake down the road you simply request a new tune and it's built and emailed to you. The only time you'll pay an upgrade fee is if you add aftermarket cams, nitrous, request an E85 tune or add an aftermarket blower/turbo setup. Those are premium tunes and have additional costs associated with them.

Also,
The Lund Racing nGauge will accept tunes from other tuners but they would need to be able to tune in a format which the nGauge accepts. With that said there's no reason to need a tune other than one from Lund Racing. When you go with the best from the beginning you do it once and never have to spend money trying to fix another tuners janky tune.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks, Jared
