Wanted to hold off for a bit before throwing this up so I could give some impressions. My expectations with how the car pulls and the boost builds on this kit have been exceeded. I'm stoked :headbang: I honestly did not expect it to start building boost as quickly, or continue to build boost as high in the RPMs, as it does. You can tell there's plenty of room to grow with this head unit. I've only got about 300 miles on the car so far, but they've been the most fun miles I've done. Rob Shoemaker did an awesome job tuning the car. He had the thing dialed in in no time at all. Videos and dyno numbers to come!

Mostly just going to copy this over from my build thread to save myself some time but here it is: jayman33 really came through for me and helped with a Stage II kit with the D-1X upgrade. We went ahead and paired it with DW 1000cc injectors, VMP's plug 'n play BAP, NGK 6510 plugs and the "Big Red" open race bypass valve. Currently running the 4.88 pulley, but planning on going to the 4.75 soon.

The D-1X is massive and beautiful, but the kit still needed a little something to be "mine"...

After painting/coating everything to match it was time to start the install. Not going to cover that as the install guide does a fine job of it and it's been done plenty of time before me. I will, however, add that the D-1X does not just slide right in- there were a couple of modifications that I needed to make to get it in there.

But, after some tweaking and manipulating it all fit beautifully and I ended up with this...

Nice! I always enjoy looking at new shiny car parts. I like the White theme on the blower as well. Very unique

Thank you! Couldn't let just the Whipple guys have matching kits haha

Super impressed with Rob's tuning- the guy has a ton of talent. He had mine dialed in no time and looking over the logs, I'm super happy. There's ton of timing in the car
Very nice touch looks great.
Very sharp!

It's actually the OE manifold; just painted it black to match everything else. I'm leaning towards CJ with a mono-blade. I'll definitely have some dyno numbers soon though with how it sits :headbang:

I'll definitely post up the numbers as soon as I have them. Hoping to go down to Tasca for a dyno run before the month is out - want to have a baseline before I change the pulley, IM, etc
A lot of white.
I'm a pretty big fan of white, haha
looks great
Nice setup!
Thanks! :D
Care to share your painting process? Looks fantastic! :headbang:
Sure! I started with the intercooler and just painted that with Eastwood's gloss radiator paint. It's thinner and a little bit different of a mixture so as to not inhibit heat dissipation.
The overflow tank, bracket and radiator cover are just standard base coat and clear (I spray using an Iwata Supernova LS400). I hand painted the "ProCharger" on the tank (and the head unit) with a fine line brush using just black base coat (seen in the can from the pic). Bracket was simply adhesion promoter for the aluminum, base and clear. The radiator cover I first sprayed with high build primer to try to get the texture out. Blocked out the primer with 400, sprayed the lettering black and use liquid masking to cover it. Sprayed the white, pulled the masking out and shot the clear.
The head unit itself I did differently. I used a two part enamel. It's much more heat resistant, chemical resistant and harder than normal 2 stage paint. Honestly, think G2 caliper paint and it's pretty much the same idea. I took my time on this all before starting the install over the course of 2 afternoons and let everything sit for a few days to harden before I actually put it in. I've already used degreaser and a power washer on it with zero issues

Is that a coupler clamped to a coupler on the driver side of the intercooler? Maybe it's just an optical illusion.
