This sticker is in the drivers door window of my GT. I wonder why they can't put manual cars on the top deck in reverse?? Also note they have to show how to tell the difference lol.

Who knows  maybe something to do with burning the fuck out of the clutch as I did on Sunday at Speedfest  I foolishly parked on the grass bank and tried to move my car backwards up the hill - not easy, trust me!

This from Ford's 'Rail and Haulaway Vehicle Handling Manual (20th May 2016)'

Ford Mustang

Warnings and Restrictions:

All Mustangs excluding the GT350 and 350R with manual transmissions should always be driven on in the forward orientation when loading on the top deck of any carhaul rig.

Mustang convertibles should always be driven on in the forward orientation and only be transported on the TOP deck of a haulaway rig. Under no circumstances can a convertible travel on the bottom deck.

Clutch Warning: Please advise all personnel to avoid slipping the clutch excessively when operating on any manual Mustang. Excessive slippage of the clutch may result in permanent damage to the clutch components. Make sure the transmission is in first gear before moving the vehicle forward, and make sure the transmission is in reverse before moving the vehicle backwards. Please note that the gear shift lever has a bias spring that may allow the vehicle to be shifted into third gear instead of first. Reverse is to the left of first gear and requires the driver to pull up on the lift ring for the V8, V6 and I4 Mustangs.

GT350 and 350R Special Instructions

The GT350 and 350R have a lower front fascia, so use extra care when loading to avoid damage.
Extreme caution must be exercised for both the loading and unloading process. Strict compliance to the 5 mile per hour or less rule is of the utmost importance.

No real clues there as to why... but I'd say clutch related. Pretty sure I've seen pics of Mustangs on UK transporters that haven't complied with these directions  !

There you go... from post (#118) put up by Kristian87 on the 'UK S550 "Spotted" thread'... which certainly shows it's been reversed onto the top deck... but is it a manual?

I doubt that the contractors Ford use in the UK have ever seen their 'Rail and Haulaway Vehicle Handling Manual' let alone give a shit about the clutch on a car they'll never own... but maybe I'm being unfair!

Definitely the clutch, my drive way is on an incline no where near as severe as the ramp on a truck and I can smell the clutch after I reverse in, Going forwards I don't need to slip it at all and can just drive in. Needless to say I never back it in any more.

Had this on my manual Aston V8 Vantage....even a slight incline in reverse would get the clutch smelling..

I believe it was to do with the size of the reverse gear, being the biggest they could fit, so they couldn't get lower gearing even if they wanted to

Different in the UK that's just "custom pack" any car can put it on it.
So the black performance pack wheels can come on the non performance pack cars in the UK? All I saw was Lustre Nickel multi-spoke alloy wheels for the custom pack.

All our cars are PPs, of sorts. Manuals and autos.
The performance Pack is a specific option. Form what I have seen so far, and I could be wrong, but from what I have seen you can only get the black performance pack wheels when you get the performance package option on the car. And the only way you can get an auto with the performance package option was to get a 50th LE car.

Every UK car already has performance pack.

EB gets the 5x2 spoke blacks
GT gets the multi Y spoke Black alloys as standard

Custom pack which is these:
Reverse sensor
Nav + shaker
heated + cooled seats
also gives this:
Multi spoke Y alloys IN nickel. + Chrome window surrounds.

Hmmm interesting, and that can come with an auto huh? That's even more interesting as in the states you had to get a 50th LE car to get the performance pack with an auto.

As Manders says, we get an International version of the Performance Pack which while we can spec up an auto box we don't get all the PP bits like the Torsen diff, strut tower brace, etc. Caused a lot of chagrin in 2015 as we waited on a final specification for our cars ;)
