Yes, the wires are fused. With fuse connection, you will literately double fuse protect it.

Not Mustang related, but I had to post this.

This Uber driver mistakenly picked up a sex worker instead of his fare which was captured on his MiVue580.

He's obviously not done too much work in East Sydney.

Latest DCOA crash compilation.

Many near death experiences in this one.

The video involving the train reminded me of a scene from Stand By Me.

Can a dashcam drain the car's battery?
I left on a two and a half week vacation and when I came back today, I could not start the car. Have power to get into the car though.

Called NRMA Assist just then since I don't want to risk jumping the cables yet.

Sure can.

Do you have a power management module fitted to the dashcam? I suspect not. The purpose of these is that you can set a voltage limit that when reached, the dashcam is turned off so it doesn't drain the battery.

Thanks Frostee. The battery was indeed flat most likely due to my dashcam. I do not think that it has a power management module as this is an unknown brand installed as arranged by the dealer. Sigh... Should have gone to Theinkware or Blackvue brand.

Anyways NRMA roadside assist jumped started the battery then I took it for a long ride to MacArthur for dinner.

All ok now, fingers crossed.

Does anyone know of a dashcam that is dual camera - eg suitable for the convertible so has front and rear camera on the one unit?

I bought an F770 with rear cam. Haven't worked out yet how I'm going to fit it :)
If you find a good solution I might put the F770 on another car instead.

That's a great price. I bought a second one not long ago for $380 and thought that was good.

Install is very simple DIY if you get some "add a circuit" things to use. There's plenty of vids on Youtube that may not be Thinkware specific but will show you where/how to route the wires and connecting power isn't much different for any dashcam. Search back through this thread and I'm fairly certain I recall people even saying which fuse circuits to use. I'll be doing my Ranger this weekend if the weather holds and I can fit it into the schedule.

Blackvue install in a S550 Mustang:

Thinkware F770 install (not in a Mustang)

I think between those two and asking any questions here if you get stuck, anyone should be able to DIY.

To all asking about installation of a Thinkware for the Mustang:

It is a simple job and takes about 30-60 minutes. It will require, at a minimum, some small pliers and a 10mm (I think - might be an 8mm) socket.

I will see if I can pull a guide together if there is interest. (maybe PM me if you are interested so I know who to tag in it)

Thinkware F770 power management question: has anybody got a recommendation for what to set the minimum battery voltage at? I was sitting in the car waiting for my detailer and it turned off due to low battery after like 10 minutes.
