I for one will be waiting for the B&O Play System. As good as this car is, I'm not going to spend $40k+ and not have the stereo system I want.
There is no guarantee that system is going to sound significantly better than the existing shaker pro. Bose has that premium label and sounds like poo poo in GM vehicles compared to aftermarket offerings.

This is one of the reasons why I hope they change the options bundling from what we're seeing on the leaked order guide. According to that, 401A now ditches the Shaker Pro and includes Nav instead. Shaker Pro is a separate option. I wish it would have been the same as before, I'd rather have a better stereo than nav I'll never use.
Always agreed they needed to bundle better with their packaging.

This allows them to remove the Shaker from 401a, but still more than likely charge the same (or more even) while now being able to charge $1k+ for separate Shaker instead of only $700 for NAV.

I think they'll find that nobody is gonna pay big bucks for a Shaker Pro that is unchanged from previous years. I could see doing a separate option if it was a new sound system like B&O Play. Like I said, hopefully these option packages change for final production. Otherwise I'm not sure what 401A will include other than memory seats and nav. Because there's also a new "Safe and Smart" package which I'm guessing may include the Blind Spot Monitoring along with ACC, autonomous braking, etc. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out. I'd want the blind spot monitoring but not all the autonomous nannies, so how they bundle stuff might make or break my decision.

Throwing NAV in the 401A package is idiotic. Most don't want NAV nor need it with their smart phones. This is kinda a d--k move to get $$ from the consumer in the 401A package.

Hopefully they don't put the new premium package trim in 401A only as an option.

I think they'll probably be separate. The new "Premium Plus" trim is basically just a renamed Premier trim from 15-17 with a few enhancements. It's been a standalone option in the past as long as you got a Premium trim.

For me moving Navigation into the 401A and Shaker 12 speaker out of it would basically translate into a nice price reduction for the Shaker. I couldn't care less about Bliss, Memory Seats or Navigation. So if I don't need the overpriced 401A at all anymore I'm a happy buyer.

Supposedly BLIS is now in a safety package.

I actually enjoy the BLIS...it's saved me a number of times from hitting things I didn't see right away.

Agree on the Bose point. However, with the Bose you have more to work with. I have a Bose system in another car where I was able to make is sound decent with just some speaker changes. I'd rather not get into ripping the interior apart and adding amps and subs.

I hope with B&O play it will be an improvement with minium or no mods necessary. I had a Harman system a while back which sounded so good to me I changed nothing.

I just noticed the active exhaust video. Doesn't sound very good to me but then again it was a phone mic. Very pop-corny.

It still might not be. I'm just taking guesses. It could still be in 401A with nav and memory seats. The "Safe and Smart" package may just be adaptive cruise control with automatic braking and rain sensing wipers like the 15-17 package, but with a few more added in like auto high-beam, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and possibly lane keep assist.

Out of the two potential options to get BLIS I personally would rather be forced to pay for nav I'll never use than have a million nannies setting off false alarms and trying to drive the car for me.
