Hello every one! I am new to the forum. I have a 2016 GT that will soon be receiving some audio upgrades. Going will Audio control LC6i for the integration, Morel mids and highs, Memphis subwoofer all powered by a Hertz 5 channel amp. I don't want a large enclosure for the subwoofer so I was wondering if anyone knows who makes a corner enclosure like where the factory subwoofer would be. I know of one company in Jacksonville Florida but they are pricey. Ideas?

It's not cheap either but JL has a stealthbox for the Mustang. Lists for $799 on Crutchfield.

I saw that. But ouch!! I have less than that in the rest of my equipment.

Welcome to the forum!

I know what you mean, I spent about $400 on my sub and box. I got a box from zenclosures but their boxes go in the passthough. I think my box was around $180 shipped.

Out of curiosity, where are you going to mount your amp and the AC LC6i?

Dash kits are available now too by the way. Mine is late or I'd have a new head unit installed right now.

I emailed Zenclosures for a custom box because I didn't want to loose the pass through and didn't like the looks of their "half" boxes. They said they plan to do a corner mount for the 2015+ Mustangs but not in the near future.

Since I have the base 6 speaker system I think I have enough room to squeeze the AC LC6i somewhere behind the factory radio faceplate and the amp will probably go in the spare tire well or inverted on a custom panel under the rear deck. Haven't decided yet. I'm trying to go for a stealth install.

That's the only corner box I have found an they are $250. I thought that was a little much but may be my only option. Plus I think they are made for the woofers they use. Waiting for e-mail response to see if they will work for my sub. We shall see but in the meantime looking for other options.

Clearly you have never made a corner subwoofer box for a car. I have. $250 is cheap. If someone asked me to do that at the shop I was at, and insisted on making it out of wood, I would charge much more so that it would be done right, maximizing the use of the space available, and look nice. $250 is cheap. Goodness... be happy with $250 for a quality box. This is the reason I stopped bothering with car audio - people think the labor and the custom parts should always be "cheaper". That is a really damn good deal... so low I'd rather buy theirs than make my own.

Been eyeballing the zen enclosures, have been wondering how safe it is just sitting back there, if it would need to be bolted down?

Mine is not bolted down and has not moved... if you are really concerned, you can always add Velcro to the underside of the box.

I'm not against spending that kind of money for something that is done right just concerned about the performance with my specific woofer. I'm still waiting to hear back from them and didn't know if any of you knew of others that were available.

I just installed a Zen Enclosure, it fits very tightly, it isn't going anywhere

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Zenclosures ones, including the half box, prevent the spare tire cover from being lifted up.

you can indeed still lift and/or remove the cover with the Zen Enclosure in place

Really? It looks like it covers at least 3 inches of the rear part of the cover. No clearance issue at all? I'll have to go and check my cover later. Thanks for the info
