At the end of the day it's going to come down to what the final packaging is. Ford has a history of doing some really odd things. I just hope they have found ways to keep the price down. The 6G Camaro struggled until it received significant discounts to bring it in line with the Mustang.

I'd guess we get GT/CS, Bullitt and GT500 for 2018. Mach 1 for 2019.
The GT/CS did not come out for 2015 during last refresh. So that is why I am feeling a vibe of a repeat of the packages beyond PP will not be for 2018

Like most, yesterday's pics left me underwhelmed....

HOWEVER, I like the pics much better on the official release. I still will have to have a "wait until I see it in the flesh" on the front end, the rest is a homerun. It's almost worth trading in my 16 for the digital dash alone.

Anyone else wonder why there was not one picture of the Convertible? Or did I miss it?

I know. Either the pics are mislabeled (wouldn't be the first time marketing materials had a mistake in them), Kona Blue has been changed a little, or I haven't seen it in such a long time that I'm getting confused.
I agree. The pics floating around of Kona do not accurately represent that color imo. I've seen plenty of Kona cars and it's a very dark navy blue. Even in direct sunlight it looks nowhere close to those pics.

Unless they tweaked the color like you said...

That's because their photoshop department did a crappy job of blowing out the contrast so the whole picture doesn't have any natural lighting or shadows... it's basically a useless picture at this point.

its a bit strange
The Big thing about the S550 was how the Verts body was so different to the hardtop

Not sure if this one has already been posted. Some good info from the mustang marketing manager.

Nothing about the new look is good. Suburu called and wants their rice spoiler back. And Honda called and wants their front Civic bumper back.
Nice mechanical changes. But, I am out. Hopefully they dont F up the S650. Something tells me if Fields is still around its going to get worse.

It has grown on me quite a lot. I love all of the new features and the new wheel options look great. I definitely plan on upgrading my interior with those silver pieces.

Hopefully Ford won't continue to punish automatic owners by precluding them from the Performance or Track Pack options or even a larger brake choice.

Did you even bother to read Page 1?

KEY CHANGES
2018 Mustang offers an EcoBoost and GT model only. V6 is gone.
All models get revised shocks, increased lateral stiffness, and revised stabilizer bars (base suspension improvements said to be on par with the previous optional performance suspension)
MagneRide adaptive dampers available on both EcoBoost and GT Performance Packs (will be matched with and tuned for, less spring compared to GT350's MagneRide suspension)
5.0-liter V8 and 2.3-liter EcoBoost will both get power increases (exact HP/TQ increases not yet released). Expect the EcoBoost to receive more torque and the GT to get an increase in both horsepower and torque.
Performance Package available on automatic and/or convertible Mustangs (no need to choose anymore)
The 2018 Mustang GT gets an updated 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with both port and direct fuel injection which allows Ford to increase the V8's compression ratio from 11.0:1 to 12.0:1.
Available six-speed manual transmission for both GT and EcoBoost (with twin-disc clutch and new dual mass flywheel on the Mustang GT)
10-speed optional automatic transmission available for both models - shorter first gear and wider overall gear spread compared to the outgoing auto. Will stay in first gear for extra hard launches. Selecting Sport and Track mode will lock out 10th gear and hold gears for longer
GT Performance Package receives Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires
EcoBoost Performance Package retains Pirelli P-Zeros
Mustang GT gets optional active exhaust
10 new wheel designs, 12 in total, including several wheels that are stand-alone options.
On sale in North America in Fall 2017
Pricing for the base four-cylinder model likely to remain close to the 2017 Mustang EcoBoost $27,095 MSRP while the GT should add approximately $500-$1000 on top of the current $34,095 MSRP.
