I purchased the 350 based on exclusivity and a semi rare car. Since now they're making it through 18 here's my question, should I sell my 350 now and get a GT500 or Mach 1? I don't race the cars I like going to shows here and there, taking it out on weekends and just having a prized possession. I do love the sheer classic muscle car Sound and Power of a straight line car so now since it's really not that rare maybe a GT500 would suit my needs more. I know as soon as the GT500 or Mach 1 is released I'm going to want that but that's normal of probably all of us I'm just trying to soul search a little. I regret selling my 09 Vista GT500KR and don't want to regret this one.

If your concerned with rarity you should have bought the R, enjoy the gt350 for what it is "an awesome drivers car", no point of regrets keep or sell
Your right, and I had the chance for the R when I traded my Hellcat in but passed. I'm an idiot.

Keep the GT350!
The GT350 is and will always be unique no matter how much faster or how much power the GT500 makes.
Naturally Aspirated engines rule if you ask me. Anyone can put a blower on a engine and claim hp. The GT350 is the last of a dying breed, especially when ford just released news of a 2020 S550 hybrid.
I have done a lot of mods to my 2016 Track pack. Nothing is permanent and it can be returned back to stock at anytime. I love this car and no GT500 / Mach1 etc will change that. I know newer and better will come in time, but this is the car for me. If I had your car, I'd do the same mods that I already have done and add DSSV dampers to it and ditch some weight. If all you do is cruise the streets and car shows on weekends why not keep the car everyone dreams and talks about even 2 years after it was released. Go on bing.com and type in GT350 in the search and to this day it still has new articles like it just came out today.
KEEP THE GT350.
If power is your goal add a blower or twin snails later when more have proven it reliably. Or do as I plan and build a 700hp NA voodoo.

Ps. Just because it's the base lesser model doesn't mean it's worth less in the future. Some lesser models bring more value. But who cares what it's worth, its SPM. (smiles per mile)

In all actuality you have the rarest version of the GT 350. While it may never be the most desirable as far as rare it's 1 of like 101 base models in the U.S.

Never buy a car as an investment. The vast majority will never be collectible. No one can even say if the R will be collectible. It has a better chance but it is not guaranteed.

I say don't worry about collect-ability and just enjoy the car. You may be chasing something you will never achieve if you are looking at a newer car as an investment.

A prized possession is what you make it. Just remember how many people would KILL to have the car that you have. Go on Youtube and look at GT350 videos. Read the comments. I'd say it's pretty prized, but that's just me.

Lastly, it's the person driving the car which really matters. Hopefully those folks you meet at shows are just as interested in getting to know YOU instead of just taking a look at your car, regardless of the model.

I'm not surprised to hear about the continuation of the 350. Its not stale because it is still a very formidable track car. Sales are still strong. Ford would be foolish to dump the platform when they still cant keep up with demand. Furthermore, it may be the last naturally aspirated big V8 in production. However in the 4 year run that we are looking at, I believe what is to come will be better. It is the nature of development and buying now will buy you yesterdays car because tomorrows car is probably right around the corner.

I'll still take delivery of the R because it is IMHO a collectable car. However, I may let go of my track pack towards the new and a bit of variety (all depending on what comes down the line).

One thing is for sure, the 350 has been and still is the greatest production mustang ever built. Damn outstanding!

Exactly and no matter what, it's only worth what someone is willing to spend to buy it and the seller is willing to let it go for.

O.P., they're still rare cars. Using even numbers and rounding up here but, 150 for 15. These are the real collectors. 6000 for 16, still not allot and the different options really break it down like your base model, 6000 for 17, now another 6000 for 18 (if they build that many).... So less than 20k. Now will they build them for 2019 or 2020???? Who knows. Either way that puts them at around 30k cars. Now factor in wrecked ones, burned up ones, stolen ones, and so on...... They are still not average run of the mill cars. They are great cars, fun to drive, and beautiful to look at. I rarely see another one around here. I understand wanting the latest greatest thing but no matter what some may say the 350 will be sought after for years to come.

Exactly. Say the GT500 was out today, the following few years another one will be out and better unless the government steps in and it's 1970s all over again.
I say keep the GT350.

6,000~ a year, R included, its still a rare car. Doesnt Chevy make like 40,000+ Vettes a Year? Doesnt matter what awesome car comes out from Ford or any other manufacturer, nothing sounds like the Voodoo engine. Its sound and soul is universally praised. Good luck getting that kind of soul from a force induction car.
