Gauging interest in Roush active exhaust kit alternative.

Even the open side of the Roush muffler is still muffled. It is just straight through the muffler. Which gives a completely different sound than just open exhaust. It just uses an electric valve. When closed, it flows through the mufflers to be quiet. When open, it flows straight through the muffler.

And there is a nice, half price alternative to the Roush, Varex.

So just to be clear will this still require the Roush exhaust system? You just wouldn't need to purchase their "active" components?

Just wasn't sure if you're marketing this as a full exhaust system which implements the device in your initial post or if it is just that cutout portion. If it is just the cutout portion, would this work with any exhaust system?

I'm not selling this, I'm trying to get it produced. The difference would be the quality and a direct fit for the Roush active ready quad tip axle-back.

Thanks. I guess I thought this was something a little different. Another active alternative axle back to the Roush would be very nice. This appears to be supplemental to the Roush passive, no?

If someone has the Roush active ready axle-back like I do and wants to make it an active setup, the only direct bolt on option is the Roush active exhaust kit. This will be a much cheaper option. Also, I believe all Roush RS1's come active ready. Thus means you would have to spend another $1600+ in order to accomplish that. If I can get this produced, it would be less than half of that and bolt right on.

I understand how typical cutout setups work, but the Roush active ready axle-back is not just a typical muffler.

Correct, this will bolt on to the Roush "active ready" axle-back that comes on all Roush Mustangs. So, you can purchase the Roush axle-back and use this to make it active. That's IF I can show Quick Time Performance that there's enough interest to produce it.

What I really want is an active or dual mode exhaust without having to change rear valence and get 4 tips. I love my black & painted Premium rear bumper, but sometimes I want to flip a switch and go into loud mode. I've considered just doing cut-outs, but I'm worried about them sounding like crap.

You can always do what I did and run the Roush quad exhaust with turndowns on the inside outlets. I made some plates with smaller holes which really cleaned up the sound. I may make a few different sets to be able to create different exhaust notes whenever I feel like changing it up.

Omg yes! Can you post some pics? I've asked about a bunch, even direct to a Roush and never gotten and answer of whether or not I could do it.
