Video as promised:

Interior, windows up. Warmish start, light driving and one moderate throttle.
[ame]

Interior, windows up then down.
[ame]

Exterior: warmish start and revs, driving around for 4 minutes. You don't really hear the rasp as much inside as I have the camera basically over a muffler here. (this video may have 1 minute of silence to start, waiting on youtube to trim it)
[ame]

Definitely hear the deeper tone, just a little burble and pop, and that its not bad at all in the interior. Surprisingly quiet at WOT, but otherwise I love the sound (compared to most axleback offerings). I have a wake-the-dead exhaust on my S197 racecar which probably makes this setup more attractive to me.

Great videos Captdistraction. I am glad you like the setup. Sounds exactly like mine. I made some videos but none as good as yours. I don't have a GoPro. You have the best videos of this setup so far that I have seen. How it sounds in your video is exactly how it sounds in person.

Did mine a few days ago on Tuesday. Picked up the 2010 GT500 mufflers off Craigslist for $100 and had them installed for $120. It's noticeably louder especially on cold start.

That's diiferent. The mufflers people have been using are the 2011-12 versions. The 2010 ones have a longer, different tip. You're the first one that I know to make it work. I wonder if it sounds any different than the 11/12. They are all custom jobs so any would fit.

I was thinking the same, as the 11-12 mufflers are what people have been using for years on the coyote cars.

What's the difference in mufflers from 2010 to 2011-12? Part number on mine is F1-8143-L and 2 285 9A. Resonator has been deleted and have an x pipe. Will try to get some videos soon

Normal warm start

Cold start, sitting all night

the part number for the 2011-12 is M-5230-MGTCA1

Doesn't matter though. Yours looks and fits great and sounds the same as 11/12. Do you have resonator delete? Maybe get some vids of it in action.

I had mine installed today.

Total cost: $180, $260 for the mufflers. Not bad, still beneath most axle backs

I'll get pictures of the install when I can, but for the most part it was straight forward, just a lot of time spent perfecting the alignment (from the cut inlet to the tip its 6" longer than the factory muffler, which means you both have to move it forward towards front of car and you end up with the tips further out of the car). I also had him weld the joints at the CJPP pipe because I couldn't tolerate the leaks they had.

Now it sounds fantastic. Idle is exactly as in the video above, and I can hear the motor finally. Sounds like a mustang. At WOT its not terribly loud, but the tone has drastically improved. It also tamed the raspy tone the car gained when doing the resonator delete.

I'll get videos when I can, but busy weekend ahead of me. Definitely glad I went this route.

I live in the Phx area. (Work in Tempe @Rockford Fosgate but live in Chandler) Can you reccomend the shop who did yours? I have the GT500 muffs and an Xpipe.. Thx Alvin. I sent you a PM as well.

16 Convertible with X-PIPE and GT500 muffs

Just had my 16' Mustang Gt convertible operated on. I found these guys local
Scottsdale Muffler and Automotive here in Tempe AZ. They were highly recommended. Number is (480) 994-4741 , website http://scottsdalemuffler.com/

They fabricated the X-PIPE and installed the 11-12 GT500 mufflers. SOUNDS AWESOME!!!! Not sure if too loud with the TOP DOWN yet but will play with that. Worse case adding a couple of reso's but we will see.
Cost was $220 for the complete install and fab of the X-PIPE. Could not recommend them higher.

Looks great, curious to hear how it sounds with their custom X-pipe. I might just go that route for my mid-pipe for that price haha

So from what I gather, the 2010 GT500 mufflers produce the same results? Just want to doublecheck before I pull the trigger on some this weekend. Now I just have to figure out whether to go H or X pipe.

Nice cars guys, thanks for sharing.
