I just got done reading the Global Paint thread and it got me wondering...

I am leaning more and more towards getting a Mustang, again, and was fantasizing about how to wrap the hood, stripes etc. Then I thought. Maybe having a solid color is the better way to go... Plan Jane on the exterior.

The reason being that if/when I am "THAT guy", whoever I piss off won't be able to really pick me out of a so called line some other day.

My current yellow Focus ST... REALLY stands out :bolt:

Or am I the only one who thinks like this?

Magnetic Metallic is practically invisible on a cloudy day. I stay away from stripes, and crazy spoilers too, mostly because I don't like the look but anonymity is a bonus. Still have stock pipes as well, though I am considering something just a tad louder than stock.

I had the exact same issue. I'm a bit of a conservative guy and have no need of others approval. Nor do I feel like I want to stand out in a crowd. We're all built different. I just love Mustangs and always have. I wanted the DIB color but had to get the lightening blue when ordering a 2017. That hood is a huge sea of blue. I thought it would be better to break it up with black over the top strips and black rims. I was not disappointed, but now think either way is fine. The cars a GT with PP and seems to work with the stripes. Do what looks good to you and go for it!

I need one way mirror glass in my car. I like driving it, I don't like being looked at. Hey Austin, we need pictures.

Keeping mine stock on the outside, modded under the hood. I like having a sleeper.

I have the same thoughts. I've considered a custom plate before, but haven't gone that route for this reason. I also think my guard green allows me to stay relatively inconspicuous. Doesn't jump out at you, but if you look closely, there is a lot going on. My Corsa also helps if I'm wanting to get someone's attention.

Your gonna be noticed anyway, so no matter what you do its still a damn sexy car.

IMO, anyone who drives a Mustang (including me) doesn't mind being noticed.

I bought my car for me to drive, and not really for others to notice. But you will get looks and compliments anyway. So buy what you want the way you really want it and don't worry about anyone else..:headbang:

If your Focus stands out, what do you think a Mustang will do?:D

I've had the plan to keep my purely cosmetic mods to a minimum. If the numbers are true, Houston is the city with most 'stangs...seems to make sense since I see a lot of them in the streets, so it's no longer a "rare" car.

I see a lot more modded S197's than SN97's and S550's. Perhaps with enough time, the S550 will get there. I have even opted to keep my dealer decal and license frame. The only obvious mod I have is the sto-n-sho. My lowering is no more than 1".

Most of them are stockers, mine is not but looks pretty damn stock, doesn't seem to catch that much additional attention compared to plenty of expensive cars.
