In the market for a floor jack and surfing Harbor Freight's site right now. They have the 1.5 ton aluminum racing jack on sale for $89.99 right now vs. the 2 ton for $139.99.

Worth the extra $50 dollars? Looking to get a high quality set of jack stands too and rather put the extra money towards that.

I use a 3 ton usually, haha. But I have used that very 1.5 ton and it sucks. I swear you need to be yourself 400 lbs. to shove that pump handle down to lift the car! My 3-ton can be operated literally by my 8 year old cousin to full lift.

Good to know! I'm guessing this would be the better option...

The selling point for the aluminum racing jacks is the weight and rubber padding, but I suppose I won't be hauling this thing everywhere :headbonk:

I bought the 3 Ton low profile jack from Harbor Freight for $79.99 during one of their parking lot sales. My old 1.5 ton jack made me nervous.

I have the 1.5 ton HF jack and have used it for a few years now without issue.

Any other input? There's actually a coupon for both that brings the 1.5 ton down to $59.99 and the 3 ton down to $79.99.

Using the 3 ton low profile here...I had a regular one, wouldn't fit after I did jacking rails.

I have two of these and they are perfect for a lowered car! Get you a few of the rubber hockey pucks for the jack rails and you're set.:clap2:

My 3-ton is a low profile made "by" Michelin. It's probably the same as many other 3-ton jacks. It's the only Michelin product I can afford... :headbonk:

$20 difference for twice the weight. Seems worth it IMO.

I have that three ton jack that I got for the same $80, it works great for my Mustang, Expedition and our tractor. :) Very versatile. Only down side is that it is very large and not light, but that is what I expected.
It's what I'm leaning towards but the weight of the 1.5 ton aluminum one is tempting. Their website has multiple 5 star reviews for it but heard some negative things about it too.
