Just because its Monday....
1) Sync3 is the best infotainment system I have used to date for no other reason other than CarPlay and seamless integration with my iPhone. I never pick up my phone in the car now since you can navigate/text/call on the road without distraction. Anything that keeps us off our phones while driving is a huge win. Yes, I do wish we had a scroll wheel by the armrest but overall in functionality, Ford hit a homerun.
2) Sync3 is the worst infotainment system I have used to date for no other reason other than my satellite radio briefly cuts out/loses signal……...every day……several times a day…when its raining…when its cloudy…when its sunny…under clear skies. I never had this problem in any of my other cars so this is a Ford issue.
3) Despite the arrival of the modern Mustang, it remains an American muscle car in every sense. All this talk about how IRS has turned the Mustang into a true sports/track car is plain hogwash. This car still shakes, rumbles, burns rubber and makes a whole lot of noise (w/ aftermarket pipes of course)….and its not fake artificial noise…its serious HP breathing down your neck. What I’m saying is, yes, this car handles pretty well but nothing beats pointless throttle mashing from stoplight to stoplight.
4) I have gotten a lot more looks and compliments on the car than I would have imagined. When I owned a Vette, I would get the occasional quick second look and no one ever noticed my M3 when I had one. In this car, people have actually rolled their windows down at a light or stop me in the parking lot to talk to me, give a quick compliment or ask a question. It’s really great that the car starts conversations with fellow enthusiasts.
5) Besides a few bad plasticky pieces on the door and center console, the interior of this car is actually a REALLY nice place to be in. Do not kid yourself, the interior is still light years behind Audi/BMW/Benz if you like to compare apples to oranges.
6) My initial impression of the different gauge/interior LED colors (MyColor) was a gimmicky ploy. I have come to love this feature over time. I don’t know if there is any truth to color psychology, but often on long drives at night, I have this habit of matching or changing the color to my mood that day. Maybe it’s the placebo effect, but I truly feel the right color that day helps me stay a little extra alert at night.
7) Black is the best color to get this car. Its dark, stealthy and just plain bad @ss. I am Batman.
8) Black is the worst color to get in this car. Batman is no match for pollen, dust or water spots. If I sneeze on my car the wrong way, I would probably scratch it.
9) Get the Performance Pack if the coin allows. The brakes alone are worth it. This thing stops on a dime and sometimes I accidently brake too hard crawling around town because it has a lot of bite. As for the 3.73 gears, you will come to embrace it. Yes, sometimes you will hate it because it requires you to drive like Mario Andretti when you just want to grab milk at the supermarket. But the truth is, 9 out of 10 times you are in the car, you will WANT to drive that way.
