I'm trying to figure why Kooks would make an awesome product that won't function as well as it could?
I bought new Long tubes with Green Cats and the connection pipe after the cats drop from 3" to 2.5" No taper, just a blunt change in size. Does anyone have a bolt on fix? Kooks doesn't. :frusty:
My tuner did the install and is looking for a fix without having to spend a small fortune doing custom work.

So Kooks is not a 3" system, I thought it was?

Looks like you bought the wrong set. Kooks makes the same header set for full 3'' or for hooking to OEM cutback. You have the OEM Catback hook up.

Nope, not according to Kooks,
Edit to Add, I wanted green cats. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm sure they make an Offroad set. NON cat

If so I did not see it. If that's the case then I'm sure they would just sell that piece that clamps after the cat.

Do yall just arbitrarily want a 3" system or do you think it performs better?

Shit if I know! You would think so though. The shop that installed them for me was like wth that's crazy putting long tubes on then going back to 2.5 then back to 3. Sounds logical unless you have a different opinion?

Since you are supercharged, it might make a difference. 3" would probably be preferred.

Under 600hp, 2.5"/3" doesn't really matter. Wouldn't be surprised if 2.5" made a little more power.

That's a factory connect set up. You need a perf version. Problem is you'll have to buy new leads which with green cats aren't cheap

Can't you just cut from the straight section, weld or clamp a braided expansion joint ( as seen below) and fit the 3" catback to the setup?

I have the Kooks LT headers with Green Cats. I ended up buying the full 3" Kooks Catback exhaust that bolts straight up to the mid pipes which makes it a true 3" all the way back. The "factory connect" pipes you are talking about can come off.
