ND65 BKX?
Purchased at Lookers Ford Sunderland as an ex-demo?

This is the Mustang a dealer slid sideways into a wall. He's just paid £36k for a repaired car.

Its why the rear lug was loose because it needed new suspension fitted.
Ouch!!!!

Definitely - if they've passed it off as a low mileage ex demo without telling him it was rebuilt it will make a great news story if nothing else !

Official figures are 416ps for UK/RHD mustang which is just over 410 (mechanical)hp. LHD Euro models are 421ps (just over 415hp) which is quite a difference to the US quoted 435.
What's weird is that the order-sheet for my particular mustang specifically states that it has a 421ps engine.

Was the order-sheet completed at the time you ordered? i.e. before ford 'discovered' the RHD manifold issue?

Ragardless - even LHD EU models are down about 20 horses and I haven't found a satisfactory explanation as to why?

For another topic perhaps.

421ps is 415BHP approx
Well aware.
Still stated the euro engine output.

Long after. Day before I took delivery.

Different testing strategies.

USA quotes the highest possible output on the best possible widely available consumer grade fuel.

Europe does the opposite: Stick in some RON95 from Tesco and advertise the lowest possible output you can expect.

There was a thread about a year ago that suggested that EU figures have to be based on using the lowest octane fuel usable as standard. US figures can be based on the best fuel available. Could all be bollocks though :D

The Fiesta is the best example of "highest possible output" advertising in the USA.

We all know the ST is 179hp with an overboost to around 198hp.
USA? Just flat out say it has 198hp at all hours of the day despite it making 179 95% of the time.

It is bollocks to an extent!

USA, UK, EU, Japanese cars all run different maps, it is actually common place across many cars, not just the Mustang.

Though the ECU is adaptive, so good fuel might see you 5BHP above stock, crap fuel will see you below it.

I proved this, Vpower, panel filter, catback exhaust, it made 415BHP, 421PS. No way it was making more without modifying the ECU tune to give more base timing and of course other tweaks.

Remap with panel filter and catback exhaust on a UK car will give 435-440BHP, add a decent CAI and your around 450BHP.

Hopefully a bit clearer

Ah hah, that's my dealer he bought it from and I wonder if they discolosed to him that's the car that was wiped out by a over zealous salesman on a frost December morning. No wonder he got it for less than list, it's had a new bumper, new rear quarter panels, new rear alloys, list goes on. And it was repaired at the shoddy Audi bodyshop that cocked mine up 3 times

So its true then...Ben mentioned it earlier in the thread. Nowhere near enough of a reduction to cover that damage so I'd suggest it wasn't disclosed. They're charging todays prices for a 2015 model thrashed by tyre kickers and trashed by a salesman. No wonder it had issues.

I have been talking to Autocar and they told me that they only found out yesterday that the car had been crashed. Also they said that they will be pushing to get a new car and that it seems likely.

Glad someone told them. I actually work for a company owned by Haymarket and although I don't visit their offices often, would have been awkward to see it in the car park if they didn't know...

Hopefully they get it sorted and a new car supplied.
