Tech is always going to improve every year with things like car play, but if you want an automatic, waiting for that 10 speed Auto is worth the wait. Direct Injection is rumored as well and would improve performance and fuel efficiency, but that has been rumored every year ever since the coyote came out.

Keep in mind that 10 speed auto and direct injection will most likely raise the cost of MY 2018 / MY 2019. :(

Also I'd avoid the first year with a new trans/DI engine... wait for the 19 so they can get quirks ironed out. So if you're like me and keep cars for 2 years, it's why I got my 16 and didn't wait. I have plans on grabbing a 19 model or just waiting for the 2020 depending on what's leaked.

The 10 speed is out already in the F-150 and Camaro so it's not 100% new, but yes, new to this platform.

Fords already doing DI on the Ecoboost. 10 speed is already being deployed. It'll be fine.

Apple car play is sweet.....really wish I had it in my 15. I too took advantage of the 0% and all the rebates I could get last year. Personally if I couldn't get a 16 with the deals available, I would definitely wait for the 18 refresh. As far as a PP goes, the cost of replacing tires isn't that bad considering all the extra stuff you get as well. I also bet you could easily sell the stock wheels/tires if you wanted to. I daily my PP and put on bridgestone pole positions this spring and they are holding up much better than my stock pirellis did.

I would for sure make sure you can drive it before you buy it. There are a good number of cars out there that have the vibration issue and you don't want to get stuck with one, it will take you months to get it resolved with Ford and it is a nightmare, I went through it with my wife's car. Drive the exact car you are getting before you sign any paperwork. And I am not talking about a quick spin around the block. Make sure you take it out on some different type of roads and really check it between 50-70 mph.
Any idea if the vibration issue is resolved in the 2017's? Or is it a roll of the dice whether or not you get a bad one?
