Can you take a photo when you get a chance please? If it's a fin like BMWs then that's okay but if it is actually a dome then......
I will take a pic of the offending item at the weekend. It's a dome and it's a bit too obvious as it spoils the roofline. Mine has a hole in the white transportation roof film for the damn thing!
I hope / suspect when the film is removed it will be less prominent

Isn't that the xm / gps antenna? Not seen those on the GTs I've looked at in the showroom etc, new for my17s, or have I just been blind?

I thought it was the satellite antenna as i said earlier, hence the reason the EU cars didnt have it. Not sure why it would be back however...

I don't see a reason for it if we don't have Sirius, Don't need it for Nav, unless ford added a reason for the nav/digi radio to use it?

Yes that's it in the pic above. My car certainly has it. Hopefully not by mistake because it looks rubbish. It better be doing something vitally important to justify the ugliness.

The stripe concels it a bit, probably much more prominent without the stripe

What I haven't tried yet is the USB port inside the center console storage compartment will also launch Carplay. It should. That way everything is out sight. Then you would still have to remember to retrieve your phone upon leaving the vehicle.
it does, as when you plug a USB stick in it, it reads it on the Sources button

The sync 3 system uses wifi, could this be something like a wifi antenna? I was told the nav on sync 3 will update via your home network etc, no need to buy sd cards.

My guess is it's the satellite antenna. From googling it suggests the sat radio only picks up a paid for service called siriusXM. However the US uses 2.2ghz while Europe uses 1.4ghz. I'm guessing Sirius uses geostationary comms sat networks serving the US looking at the mix of Country AND Western music they advertise.
Will ford have programmed it to pick up sat radio on Astra? E.g bbc stations available on your free sat tv???? Or will it be redundant unless I want to export the car to North America and listen to Rodeo or greatest hits of the King?

Has anyone else in Europe seen a custom pack 17 car yet with a roof mounted dome or otherwise? Just my luck they drilled the hole in mine by accident and needed something off the line to cover the mess.

Last time in the US I found Pearl Jam Radio, a satellite service. Was the soundtrack to the trip... ;)
