Find a different shop, he's b.s.ing you. The coating will not make the orange peel magically disappear. Any imperfections in the paint that are not corrected prior to application will still be visible beneath the coating. One of the reasons the coatings have such a deep shine is due to the proper paint correction done before application. If there is orange peel before the CQuartz is applied there will be orange peel after the coating is applied. I still have very little orange peel after everything was done because it is too risky to remove it all and have little to no clear coat remaining and I didn't want to have to have it sprayed with more clear coat. It's definitely 80% better after polishing was completed.A new term that need explaining! The shop I got a quote from for $1400 still insist the price is the same even thought the "Correction" process has been done. He also says they never wet sand as all new vehicles clear coat is minimal at best....so what is the paint correction process used by shops. Does anybody getting Nano Coating done ever ask for a detailed process?? He goes on to say a minimal amount of orange peel found on all new cars will disappear when the product used "Levels" all those areas.
What did your shop actually do to prepare your car for the Nano Coating you chose?? I will be applying CQuartz UK this month.
I paid $650 for paint correction and application of CQuartz. My detailer gave mine a foam bath, iron X, clay bar, polished (wet sand) with Carpro Essence Extreme, I believe he did a 50/50 Isi rub to remove all oils, and then CQuartz. He sent me pictures after each step and he showed me the clay bar he used to show me how little debris was in the paint prior to polishing.
