Wow! Autogeek is having a 15% off store wide sale and they have great package deals on everything you need to do CQuartz yourself and to maintain it.
Thanx Grrrl.. I'll check it out. But first I have a show tomorrow. My 1st with Black Magic.

Oh nice, thank you!
You're welcome.

Is there a good quick detail spray that you would recommend that's safe to use on CQuartz? It's maddening that I have a tree 10' from where I park that blows small bits of pollen on my hood. Most of it blows off once I start driving but I can still see a little pollen on the hood as a drive. On the Magnetic paint in direct sunlight the little wisps of pollen are making me crazy, LOL.

Have you thought about air blasting it off with an air compressor? Recently considered that option to help reduce physically touching it to clean off minor dust.

I hear that Gtechnique is very good. I just got quoted $1800 for 2 stage paint correction (removes 80-90 % of imperfections) and Gtechnique application. A 1 stage paint correction (light polish) and Gtechnique was $1400.

Funny thing is, I did actually consider that as probably being the safest option, lol.

OCD me thinks air blast after drive, and air blast before a drive should cut my planned weekly wash to bi-weekly or even more(only able to drive it ~once a week).

I've tried Pinnacle Black Label QD and Pinnacle Black Label Coating Booster on my Magnetic, and I'm not impressed. The stuff streaks pretty badly on my Ceramic Pro. I imagine the same would apply to cquartz. I'm still looking for a good QD and will probably try a bottle of waterless wash next. (Side note: the coating booster worked amazingly on my Miata without a coating. It acts as a spray on sealant that is hydrophobic)

Using a California duster worked OK, but I found it was just kind of making dust streaks. The compressed air idea is intriguing, might give that a try next time I'm at my dads.

So far though, as much as I want to avoid touching the car, I'm finding no better alternative than a good old hand wash. I know that even with best hand wash practices I'll still get micro scratches, but far fewer. I've got some of on trunk, but fortunately, magnetic hides them pretty well.

It's garaged on the rainy days. If It gets caught in the rain, I dont crap my pants or anything. But I do check the weather before driving it, and if there's a high chance of rain, then there's a low chance of driving it. My Miata is more of my DD.

Done the old fashion way. Wet Sand, Cut, Swirl remover, Polish, Wax, then a little liquid Flash...stunning. Not a fan of this new chemical route. Sorry.
Looks stunning. Use 22ple in place of your wax, sealant or whatever and you car would look noticeably better! 22ple is that good, hen used properly it looks like the car was fresh dipped in glossy clear. It's very durable and will never yellow. It can be removed at anytime with meguiars 105 or menzerna 2500
I did a car last week for a friend, cost her $180, included product price plus my time. Her car was new so no real paint correction needed. Just a clay bar, light polish, ipa wipedown, and application. I used a griots boss with a 15 mm throw to polish

After clay, menzerna fg 400 (used it as an all in one, in a rush), ipa, then 22ple. The hood will look much better when the coating has time to cure. Keep in mind that this is 16 year old paint on a 2000 model truck that sits under trees most of the time and never gets washed. I'll update the pics in a few days when the coating cures

Pics won't load from google photos

Paint Correction

A new term that need explaining! The shop I got a quote from for $1400 still insist the price is the same even thought the "Correction" process has been done. He also says they never wet sand as all new vehicles clear coat is minimal at best....so what is the paint correction process used by shops. Does anybody getting Nano Coating done ever ask for a detailed process?? He goes on to say a minimal amount of orange peel found on all new cars will disappear when the product used "Levels" all those areas.

What did your shop actually do to prepare your car for the Nano Coating you chose?? I will be applying CQuartz UK this month.
