Does anyone here use a clutch pedal extender

Mine isnt loose...been good since i got it last monthy but im sure with all my fat ass foot pressure on it ill have to tighten that thing every once in a while. Im actually worried that the plastic will melt since its so hot over here in Cali....so fking hot..so fkin hot....hope my cheap plastic interior dont melt either.

I'm glad I went with the billet extender, I don't think that it will stretch and become loose. So far it's still snug as a bug in a rug.

So I have one on my car and it was actually the first thing i did to it and have loved it ever since I put it on.

However today I noticed that it was a little loose. It has a little movement on the part that goes over the clutch pedal. I checked the screws and everything
is there and fastened correctly. I do the occasional track day and I would hat to have to deal with this on track or even on my commute.

Has this happened to anyone?



Im thinking about taking the whole thing apart and adding some rubber insulators or something.

How did you install the pedal covers to the extender? Aren't the screws right at the joint between the 2 halves?

I bought the billet extension and I'm gonna pick up the Steeda spring this weekend. Installing both immediately once the car is delivered and I take it home. I'm 5'6" and test driving one at the dealer wasn't the most comfortable seating position because I had to have the seat way up so I feel it will help a lot.

It helps tremendously. I'm 5'10" and I felt like I was humping the steering wheel before I got my extender put in. Much more comfortable to drive now!

That's awesome to hear. Reading through reviews and this thread I was quite surprised to hear about guys 5'10" and taller even using it and liking it better than stock. It makes sense especially for shorter guys like me but I guess it all comes down to the design of the pedal travel anyways.

I definitely felt like I was humping the wheel haha. Can't wait to try out the spring as well because the clutch feel was rather numb but it was only a 20 min. test drive anyways.

I offset it a little bit so that it doesn't go through the 2 halves. In the picture you'll notice it as the holes in the pedals show the edge of the extender.

The spring also makes one hell of a difference as well. The cars should leave the factory with these two mods.

I'm 5'6 myself and between the steeda spring and the extender , this is on par with adding 100hp. Makes driving so much more enjoyable.

I use one, and it helped a lot. I'm 5'11.

However, I'm thinking about switching back...

the extension doesn't allow me to keep my heel on the ground. absolutely no support and I end up using all leg-power to use the clutch. makes it difficult to modulate.

it also makes the dead pedal too far back from the clutch pedal. now instead of sliding your foot over, you must move backwards, then over to pedal.

now what I want is a clutch pedal stopper of some kind that won't ruin anything.

but if I move back, i'll be way too close to the brake/accelerator/dead pedal.

why couldn't they just make all the pedals on the same plane?

This is exactly what I was wondering. I imagine with the extender that I wouldn’t even be able to reach the dead pedal so I would just plant my foot on the floor right next to the clutch. And I too keep my heel on the ground when I press the clutch so I’m curious how that will work out for me. It might be different since I’m only 5’6. Crazy how even 5’11 people are using these.

While reading the above, I am curious about how everyone depresses the clutch. With heel on the floor or not?

For me, I always do it with heel in the air. I just lift my (whole) left feet and then step down on the clutch pedal.

I have always had my heel on the floor of every car I've owned. It makes a nice little divot on the floor mat and it serves as a consistent spot for heel placement.

Does this help anyone heel-toe more effectively?
I have 1 inch spacers on my gas pedal and the steeda heel-toe pedal, and still can't turn my foot enough to heel-toe without jabbing the brake too much. I'm 6'4 with long legs and I keep the seat about 85% of the way back, but my right leg is still bent a little when the brake is all the way down. With this seating position, I have to stretch my left foot to push clutch all the way in. If I move the seat back more, I feel like I could turn my right foot to blip the gas but then I'm afraid I'll grind the transmission by not disengaging clutch all the way consistently.
