you will need Wedding Car Insurance, cause if you have an accident, you will NOT be covered on Normal Insurance,
Even if you do not get paid
I do Weddings in the car, and done loads in my S197 belong to a website and even when I done it for a friend as a wedding present, I had to tell my insurance
We run a wedding car company - you will need insurance for it which must include Public Liability but no special licence. BUT NEVER do a paid prom, that is private hire, driver must be CRB and you must have an operators licence. I have seen some wedding companies try it then wave bye bye to their vehicle on a prom night as its confiscated !!He might be, I looked at doing 'Prom Runs' in mine, apparently you need insurance for it, whether or not insurance will know is another question.
Only if you get paid for it directly as it's almost like business use. Doing it as a favour to someone is like driving your nan round to the shop and I don't think you need to tell the insurance company about that lolHe might be, I looked at doing 'Prom Runs' in mine, apparently you need insurance for it, whether or not insurance will know is another question.
I'm more with this ^Only if you get paid for it directly as it's almost like business use. Doing it as a favour to someone is like driving your nan round to the shop and I don't think you need to tell the insurance company about that lol
Absolutely - so long as you can prove no payment took place and there is a valid link to the person you are taking (friend / friends daughter) etc etc then its fine. Private favour and business are totally different things!I'm more with this ^
Fair enough if you run a business then you would need to be properly licensed/insured even if you are doing it as a favour...as otherwise it just looks suspicious.
But to drop someone off at their wedding? Or Prom? Seriously? As long as no money (formally) changes hands that must be ok.
I did wonder how you would stand taking some guy you'd met in a car park two weeks earlier...Absolutely - so long as you can prove no payment took place and there is a valid link to the person you are taking (friend / friends daughter) etc etc then its fine.
