People with battered cars who park next to nice cars do it to protect their battered car, the attitude is “if I park next to someone with a nice car then they won’t dent mine”. Pointing out that it’s an empty car park at a quiet time of the day means nothing to these people.
So we remove them from the gene pool?

Not only is there car park twats theirs road twats lol 20 mile journey to site today 1 x car reversed straight of a drive into road in front of me not looking at all !!!
lol
If you're not competent enough to reverse onto a drive you shouldn't be driving because that will be the tip of the iceberg , the rest of it will be crap as well, as soon as they do it in front of somebody with a dashcam they'll get wiped out because the rule on youtube seems to be if it's not your fault take no avoiding action as you've got it on camera.

Problem is there are so many in-car nannies in cars today that people become complacent, they're either expecting a beep or the car to react automatically. While of course some problem driving is down to people being aggressive, I suspect a large proportion is modern technology making people stupid.

Yep totally agree and making them think they great drivers when its the car keeping them on the grey stuff hence usually massive accidents when they get past the cars ability to keep them in control

Can't remember the film name but there is a half decent film about this - think it's a comedy! Not necessarily related to driving but that they are so dependent on technology.

I can only imagine what the driving tests of the future will be like when everything's automated.

This is quite special... "It'll polish out".

Although, if the driver does eventually manage to park their car, you'd hope they would ensure their car stayed put......

in the uk its always a tranny van or a car with that many dented bits its quicker to count the non-dented bits
What is a tranny van? That may mean something different in the USA...just following along from home.

Another victim of the auto handbrake

I've got a mercedes with an auto handbrake , 2 vans and 2 cars with normal handbrakes

I have to think to put them on now whereas previously it was second nature to do it

A mates has 2 cars , one rolled away in a car park because he didn't put the handbrake on , thankfully it didn't hit anything.
