Yeah its overpriced since it doesn't even have that many options. I walked on a 15 guard in which they were asking a tad over 36k and that one was originally 42.5k. IDK, I see they still have it and still think about it from time to time as I'm having trouble finding comparable deals and not many guards left. I keep waiting for them to contact me for a reduced price, but no dice yet. The 0% interest for 72 months is enticing too...

Go into the dealership and see if you can get KBB trade in value on a car. Never going to happen.
Huh? Yeh the dealer wont give you KBB value because that is what THEY will get for it when they sell it, the market value, so they need to buy it for under KBB value to make money. Haven't you ever watched Pawn Stars or a like show? No one buys at value as a re-seller.

But KBB value is the current market value of the car; that's what the number represents. You could go privately sell it for that amount.

$35k isnt all that bad a deal for a GT premium with the enhanced security and 20" wheel packages- $1700 for those per the window sticker.

Yes it will be worth less off a lot than the same car as a 2016 or 2017, but its not a TERRIBLE deal. The dealership appears to have the car listed at what KBB says is the market value for a similarly equipped 2015.

Another posted said they were offered it at $37,900 out the door which includes 7% tax and all fees. So a bit under $35,000. X Plan on this car would be $36,560

Well, KBB says my 2015 GT Premium is worth $33K as a trade in. I was talking to a couple dealers and was offered $31K car unseen but he said he could do better if it was as nice as I said. That being said, $35K doesn't seem that far off with what I know. Mine is fully loaded auto with BLISS and auto cruise etc.

Yeah it's a mass produced car but the GT is not exactly a cheap car either. Many young folks don't have the credit or can afford the monthly payments not to mention gas, insurance, maintenance costs, and other life expenses.

Lastly, think about all the folks that have issues because their car had 10 miles or more on it new. Who wants to buy a car knowing a young kid or even adult took your car out for a test drive just for fun.

Test drives are for serious car buyers or to convince a person to buy not to put a temporary smile on a young guys face.
I understand this, but it cost them a sale and its bad business.

I found one for $28,600 near me, but haven't had the time to drive out to the dealership yet.

Kinda hard going from a Premium Eco to a base model, but the V8 sound would be well worth it!

I agree..

But

Now dealers are using the bs line " We will offer you on trade the average of what your model is going for AT AUCTION in the area or region..we don't use books anymore" ...
They've occasionally used that with me the last decade or so, my polite response is:

"If you're choosing to lose $$ by auctioning my trade, that's your decision. I'm sticking firm to my numbers, or no deal."

I know this. That's why I said "KBB trade in value" and not "retail value." :headbonk:

My point is, dealerships won't honor KBB values for trade in and shouldn't expect KBB value in return.

In this particular case, you can spend nearly the same money and get a car that's 2 model years newer. That's a no brainer. The depreciation hit with the older car will be significant.

I went my local dealer today and test drove a 2016 CO base gt today. They still want $32k + taxes&fees. The window sticker price was around $34.5k and it doesn't have the enhanced security package which my V6 has. They were trying to explain to me that they have to mark it up since it is the last year for CO, dunno if that is true or not but it smells fishy.

...and vice versa. It'll cost them a sale too if all their cars ran up the miles for a pointless test drives.

So you think everyone is entitled to test drive cars they cant afford?
That mentality is disgusting. So just because someone is young you assume they can't afford it? As a previous member said, this isn't a Ferrari.

People need to remember that dealerships will honor KBB values for trade in and we should expect KBB value in return. If not, you're giving money away and are not working properly on a fair deal.
