Hey everybody, updated install instructions are on the site! Coaster, I haven't forgot about ya!
Just looked at the instructions on the website, and assuming I looked at the right one I did not see mention of the correct location of the MAF for the tune required version. Should it be inside of the heat shield pointed up or out of heat shield area in roughly in the same location and angle as stock.

It looks like the location of the MAF depends on the length of the rubberized coupling between the metal intake tube and the plastic elbow. The pictures show two different lengths.

Originally I had mine installed with the MAF pointing up. Adjusted it so that it would be to the side of the box, think it looks a bit nicer that way.

The MAF contains the IAT sensor. I want to shield that as much as possible from artificially heat soaking. So I placed it inside the box. Does it help? I don't know. Seemed reasonable to me, though.

Could just wrap the maf in some thermal tape.

I think Dev is doing it tomorrow or something. I know he mentioned it would be on a Thursday. I just would like to see him also do a few of the intakes as well. I kinda thought I would do one of my own but it would probably cost me about $300 to test out 3 different intakes. I figure I could test the stock one, then 2 aftermarket intakes. But also that would be me running my GT on the dyno for an entire day. And you know how it is around here...any results will get written off as dyno error or some super-expert will observe the graph and point out some flaws with it or someone wil say you're supposed to dyno it in this gear instead of that gear and it'll just start an entire debate. Regardless of the results, I think the best way to know if something is worthwhile is to buy it, try it out, see how much you like it, put the stock piece back on, then see if you prefer the aftermarket one despite what you paid for it. And if you're happy with it then that is the ultimate decision maker.

Thanks for the quick shipping, installed and ready to test out tonight when the temps get under 95+. I installed the MAF like Dev since it makes the most sense in that position.

I'm open to any way they say it is. I don't think I have the best way, just what seemed reasonable to me.

im curious as well, there is plenty of room to move it to fit in the box, im not sure how drastic a difference it would make though

Are you going to post your dyno results in this thread or a separate thread? Gonna be on the lookout for it tomorrow
