You wait for a long time. Then your dealers calls to say their Ford regional rep says they have no allocation. What happens if a dealer puts in a 350r but doesn't have an allocation? My dealer put in a order for a R but im concerned it well just never be filled.
Attempting to put in an order without an allocation is a total waste of time. There is zero chance it will be filled. Sorry to inform you. What happens if a dealer puts in a 350r but doesn't have an allocation? My dealer put in a order for a R but im concerned it well just never be filled.
I don't know if they have a allocation I don't think they know they need oneAttempting to put in an order without an allocation is a total waste of time. There is zero chance it will be filled. Sorry to inform you.
You are right actually I wasn't looking for a R but when taking my order they asked if I wanted that option so I was like... Yes?? HahaI'm guessing you probably found a dealer who doesn't have high ADM who said they can get you a R.
As others mentioned, it's an absolute waste of time if your dealer hasn't already been told by his Ford Rep they have a R allocation. I had a deposit/order in for a month before the dealer told me they wouldn't be getting an R, this of course after they assured me their rep told them they were getting one AND told me it was solid enough that I could cut the ties to my other leads. What a waste of time and money when that deposit could've been sitting on an ACTUAL order.
Do yourself a favor, get your order number, dealer number and give Ford Performance a ring to verify what the order number is actually slated for, in their system it will say if that order is valid for a GT350 or a GT350R.
Good luck
Ah, well if you weren't actually hoping for a R, then you're golden! Just take off the 920A option and you'll be good. :cheers:You are right actually I wasn't looking for a R but when taking my order they asked if I wanted that option so I was like... Yes?? Haha
Yeah if it doesnt go through no real lossAh, well if you weren't actually hoping for a R, then you're golden! Just take off the 920A option and you'll be good.
Ford Performance can only confirm the order and what it's for. They can not tell if there is really an allocation or not. I'm in the same boat as the OP. I've got a sizable deposit on a GT350R. My dealer has told me via email that they have spoken with their Regional Rep and they confirmed it's an R allocation. I have that in email, but I still don't believe them. I think they have a regular GT350 allocation but not an R. Since I've asked, twice about the Rep, I feel like I've got no choice but to wait and see. I call FP once per month to check in and they just tell me it's on Unschedule Materials Hold....Do yourself a favor, get your order number, dealer number and give Ford Performance a ring to verify what the order number is actually slated for, in their system it will say if that order is valid for a GT350 or a GT350R...
All I can relay is my own personal experience with Ford Performance, I had an order in with a dealer for a 'R' and DORA paperwork supporting it but when the good folks at FP on the forum looked it up, it showed only as a 'GT350'. However, when FP looked up the more recent order I placed they did confirm it was for a 'R'.Ford Performance can only confirm the order and what it's for. While I think, in the end, this is a dealership problem. I also think Ford's system should be smart enough to never take the order if it can't possibly be filled. This same thing has happened to a number of people here on this forum and I suspect it will continue. I believe the dealership is likely going to try a bait and switch at the end, denying the "R" but offering up the regular GT350 for the same ADM - or slightly lower ADM but still switching it up eventually.

How do they look up the order? Some kind of order number? All I can relay is my own personal experience with Ford Performance, I had an order in with a dealer for a 'R' and DORA paperwork supporting it but when the good folks at FP on the forum looked it up, it showed only as a 'GT350'. Word of advice, CYA if you're trying to get a 'R' and don't put all you eggs in one basket and FWIW, I've found dealing with FP on the forum has been more reliable than the phone.
Yes, you need the 4 digit order number, the dealer number and the last name associated with that order. How do they look up three order? Some kind of order number?
Oh I have that already.. Who can I ask? Actually I don't have the dealer numberYes, you need the 4 digit order number, the dealer number and the last name associated with that order.
Then they probably also don't know that the dealership must be in the Ford Shelby program too. Not sure of requirements, may be just the $1000 fee.I don't know if they have a allocation I don't think they know they need one
