Sorry about the misunderstanding. When I mentioned the ruled book I didn't mean it was mandatory the GT have a V6, I mean Ford thought it would be advantageous based on the rules. Whether thats working or not I don't know.

As for the youth and cars there are a lot of factors. Licensed drivers are steadily on the decline, especially among the youth. They have social media and other ways to interact. Most are more concerned with tech gadgets. Automobiles are becoming more of an appliance to people. A thing that serves a simple purpose and nothing else. Here's a brief article for you.

And no, Ford isn't selling Mustangs as fast as ever. About 10K a month average or 120K a year in the US compared to a couple years at over half a million and several years above 300K and a few years with over double the 2015 Mustang sales. Here's Mustangs sales throughout the years

Fun cars are made for enthusiasts but they are low volume sellers. One of their important duties is to generate interest which brings in show room traffic. But plain ole boring cars are where the money is, and car companies are in business to make money. Know why Toyota doesn't make any exciting cars? It doesn't need to. They sale all the cars they need to and make a ton of money without any of that.

I don't know when or how long, but more and more people just wanna get from A to B, if they even wanna go anywhere at all. The love affair with the automobile will be about like the love affair with your washing machine (not the one you married).
Obviously the group of people (automotive enthusiasts) that I hang out with are a much different breed of person than yours therefore we have vastly different opinions on the state of whether the high performance vehicle and enthusiasts will hang on for the long term.

Each to their own but after almost 50 years of messing around and being loyal to the Blue Oval brand I am very comfortable with my opinions/thoughts and I look forward to many more years of what "The Ford Motor Company" has in store for all my buddies and myself when it comes to all of their internal combustion powered vehicles.

How could you know anything about the people I hang with? I can't say whether you and I and our respective circle of friends are similar or different without knowing you and the people you hang with. I can say that I am and have been an automotive enthusiast for quite some time and I am a Ford fanatic. I have friends that bleed blue even more so than me and friends that are just gear heads in general.

Your opinion and thoughts about the future are indeed your own as are mine. I'm just looking at where the trend is heading. It doesn't mean its the way I want it to be. There was probably a time many decades ago when two people like you and I had a similar "discussion" about manual transmissions (not over the internet of course but in person, on the phone, or via carrier pigeon).

Woah!

Also it says "Shaker".... hmmmm!
That settles it. They need to offer audio upgrades for 2016 owners. They obviously knew it had a problem. Shakergate!

You don’t want to know
All of you guys who are complaining about the V6 and EcoBoost vs. the V8 are missing the real cause - the CAFE standards that go into effect in 2025. How many 2-cylinder Fiestas will Ford have to sell to overcome a 14 MPG V8 Mustang to hit the 52 MPG average? Answer: None, because there won't be any V8s left in production by then. Ford has said it wants to be the go-to performance and fuel economy manufacturer, and the smaller engines are the chief way to achieve that.

It's not too late to contact your representatives in Congress now to get this ridiculous Obama CAFE standard reduced - or we'll soon be talking about the good old days of the two-thousand-teens. Malaise Era II (remember the cars of the mid-to-late '70s?) will soon be here if we all don't start fighting.

It's an opportunity to renegotiate ADM, if you've got one.

The car is the sum total of all the details.

No it isn't like an engine or suspension downgrade.

But heck yes it matters.

Especially when the last one was so great.
Not really it will not stop anyone from buying the car its picking the fly sh1t out of the pepper
