I managed to get a parking space allocated at one of the places I work the other day so I felt safe enough to use the Mustang for my 5am commute.

I was working on a TV programme and during rehearsals the main presenter came rushing in asking who had the 'Ford GT' down in the basement.

He was asking all the guests including Phil Collins then asked the director.

One of the crew pointed me out and said it's his.

The presenters face was a picture :D

Interesting one for me on the M4 the other day...as I pulled out in the the fast lane, a guy in a 4x4 wound down his window, stuck his head out the window cupping his ear at the same time! Mustang have wanted to hear the roar of the Ecoboost lol

That's another perception though, people do generally expect a V8 when they see a Mustang.

Lol, though I always want to do that when I see a car I think might be a V8, I'd be far too embarrassed!

Just wanted to revive this thread again as today the Asda man delivering the shopping turned up and was interested in the Mustang, he did think it was a Ferrari though  I have had nothing but good comments about the car.

Welcome to the red mustang being mistaken for a 'rari club mate.

I had someone think I was a 'Mc' today, his friend in the car even took a photo, I was at a stop junction windows down and baseball cap on (was having a 'CBA to do hair day'). Probably the oddest one i've had so far.

But get a lot of comments and people talking to me about the car, but also get a lot of ****s trying to race me

Only ever had positive comments. Have also apparently lots of kids come outside the house to take pics of the car as well. Yesterday, had a girl come up to me and said "is that your Ferrari?" I did correct her & said that the horse was pointing the wrong way & would have at least ÂŁ100,000 still in the bank as it was a Ford!

I know that if I had a good looking girl come up to me and say "is that your Ferrari" I probably wouldn't correct her ;)

Doing some work at a customers site recently - halfway through the meeting, the MD of the company (who I'd never met) came in the room just to say "I want your car" and then left. All the other people in the room knew what he was talking about, as I'd already managed to somehow get "I've got a Mustang" into the conversation.

Anyone else tend to find themselves banging on about Mustangs to relative strangers?

People seem to think it costs much more than it does (ÂŁ40K+). On the downside, I recently had some repair work done on my other car, estimated at ÂŁ400 max. I foolishly turned up in the Mustang to drop something off - I parked around the corner (as I'd been pleading poverty in an effort to keep the cost down). But as I was leaving, the garage owners mate came in saying "come and have a look at this round the corner...", so I had to 'come clean'. Consequently, the bill came to ÂŁ600! Make sure the car is off your drive if you ever have a tradesman around to quote for work on your house.

So far I have had pictures taken when stuck at lights in town by people on the street, 2 different van/lorry drivers trying to take pics as they lean our the window as I go past and someone holding up traffic on a slip lane behind me when joining a roundabout as he had his phone in his hands taking pics.

Add that to a couple of lads pulling up along side and leaning across to wind down their passenger windows (non-electric) to compliment it and it does certainly attract attention. Sometimes it starts to get annoying but as soon as I pull away I am all smiles again!

I'm buying my wife a new car as an anniversary present (sh, she doesn't know, it's a surprise :D), anyway I was at the stealers and parked in a non conspicuous spot, it's one of these multi franchise places, Ford (non Ford Store) and Mazda.

It was going to be a toss up between a Mazda 3 and a Focus for her. Had to have the same poke and preferably the same fuel (current is a Leon FR Tdi), got chatting to the salesman at Mazda first, he went through my wants and said he had a few in the compound that I could look at to judge the colour more than the model type.

I had told him I drove a Ford, that's all, not what Ford. Anyway, on the way back from the compound, we happen to go past my Ford, surrounded by umpteen sales dudes and mechanics, I then told the salesman, that's the Ford I drive :D, honestly, I thought they were going to pass out when I turned it over for them

The sales manager was one of the dudes and he intimated a great discount for a go in the Mustang, told him to cut me a good deal and he could have it for the weekend.............not!!

Well he did cut me a good deal, nearly ÂŁ4K off what Mazda's configuration site was quoting me before I went in :headbang:

Me, happy as a pig in shite, sales dude, unexpected Tuesday morning sale

I'm sure it was owning a Mustang what did it guv

Anyhoos, hoping to take my good lady down on Thursday, our anniversary, on the premiss of just looking and have a 'happy anniversary' card on the dash for her in her new car, I'm so romantic

Oh, the car?, it's a 2.2 Sport Nav diesel Mazda 3, in soul red, leather and upgraded 18" alloys thrown in

That'll be Le Mans next year, in the bank :clap2::thumbsup::cheers:

Had a lot of pointing and a few people taking photos, but today was kinda less positive...

Got home to find my street blocked by a removal van (it's a very narrow dead end, this is not unusual), pull over and ask how long they'll be "Vans have been getting past us all day, you shouldn't have such a big posh car". Ugh.
