Looking to get an H pipe with my roush axel back. I want some opinions on what H pipe paired with the roush axel backs sounds the best.

haha there is nothing in an h-pipe that makes one sound different than another, there are only sound differences between an x and h pipe

Does anyone know if an H pipe is susceptible to drone? I hate the rasp and blap from my FRPP sport and X. If an H pipe would reduce or remove it I would be all over that but do not want drone.

Good thread OP. Some of us aren't all knowing and that's what questions are for.

The H will reduce some of the rasp, but definitely not all. It's a characteristic of the mufflers you have. You should not experience drone if you don't already (the FRPP systems don't from my understanding).

I have a CJ pony parts H-pipe, makes it a tab louder, no drone at all.

Same here. Loved it with stock mufflers, but needed just a tad louder so added axle back.

I'm no expert, but isn't drone a product of the muffler design and not an X or H pipe?

MRT H Pipe and the Ford Racing Touring, no drone. Maybe not as loud as you may like so go with the Sport over the Touring. CJ Pony Parts has audio/vids of both I believe with the H Pipe.

By and large, yes. Resonator design can change it though.

I would say yes but first hand experience is golden.

Yes. The only way to get rid of drone is to cancel the sound waves against each other some how. Factory systems do this very efficiently, along with having a low overall volume so it's easily negated. Very few aftermarket systems do this due to the cost involved in the design, low demand, and limited space under the car.

First mod I did last year! Best money spent so far! Love the deeper sound from the H-Pipe and zero drone at any RPM !!
