I love that track. Feels like NASCAR on that bank!!
I hope to get the Mustang down there someday.
How fast did you reach on the straightaway? I wouldn't be suprised if our cars can reach 150 MPH before braking!! :headbonk:

Yeah I never looked down enough entering turn 1 to really know. I have a GoPro now and a much better setup. I was on pace for a 1:59 and ran into some traffic with stock pzeros. I know this car now can shave a few more seconds easily with some recent add-ons. Aero will be next.

I'm guessing you live out West now and not Nashville?

EDIT: just saw you moved to Nashville. I'm from there originally.

Actually the opposite I just moved to Nashville. I go to California for work a lot. Hopefully I can get back to auto club at some point. I have been hitting NCM as of late.

oh come on you have to have some idea of what you were reaching...?
135/140?

...PS - 150 mph would be a heroic number... Easy for me to throw that out there like a complete noob... as someone who never reached anything close to that in an s2000 (a car that would give little to no idea as to the experience in a Mustang!

Yeah after watching videos of guys running low 1:50ish times in boss 302s they were not cracking 150. Yet I know it had to be close to 135ish based on the times. With no aero its scary enough just looking straight lol.

Yes, Floaty. If you were too abrupt on letting off the gas on corner entry the car would break loose. If you gave too much throttle the car would break loose lol You had to really focus on that section in specific. Fontana kinda taught me some bad habits though for NCM. You can really hang it out at Fontana and not over drive the track in all the other areas. NCM is so easy to overdrive with the elevation changes. I feel safer at NCM because I know you need to control yourself. My biggest enemy at Fontana is me.

Thanks for the description. I can somewhat picture it after some sections of the last track session... but only projecting up to 130 mph... :eyebulge:

The days of abrupt throttle changes are over! (unless back in the hondo :D)

One thought-
Stock, our cars have slightly larger rear wheels. (edit: tire diameter)
Perhaps this would reduce some aero issues with the square setup? (edit: a slight angular modification, big difference - when w/o any aero?)

Possibly, I'm waiting to see how the carbon dynamics spoiler comes out with the gurney flap...that and a chin piece should solve some aero issues. Yet, since I moved half way across the country they track seem to be less aero dependent.
