Street prep? With hoosier slicks

Prep ? I broke a DSS800 on the street .

Hows that posible? Arent they rated at 800hp? What hp level are you at when that happened? And what tires are you running?

I launch at 5500 . We can estimate 350+ torque multiplied by 1st gear ,multiplied by 3.73 rear gear .::: poof ! They hook hard on the unpreped street

You running hoosier same size? I did one test hit today,a small burnout,it dead hooked at 3000rpm lunch,and it didnt spin out, so second time I got it side ways in first second and third, scary !!! I still have the stock halfshafts but the dss800 are going in tomorrow, want to prep the street and see how it hooks

10psi and about 50-60 passes on them .. It didn't break the shaft , it broke the cage in the cv

But how do you prep a lane? Spray that stuff on the surface, heat it up, then pour a puddle infront the rear wheel, do a burnout over that , back up and ready to go?

Buy a tractor to drag some old slicks on the road (for at least the first 330 feet) and then a sprayer for the VHT and go for it!!!! Might be cheaper to go to a dragstrip though!!!

Doesn't need to be slicks just old tires so you leave rubber on the road. Get some cheap chain and run it thru the tires while they are laying on their sides like they do at regular tracks.

Lol, my fireman buddy, had a car party at his house for a nascar Daytona race a couple years ago, about 20 mustangs ended up doing burnouts if front his house, luckily he he was friends with the police officer that showed up.
