If the track is biting well you can raise it up a lb. at a time.

I've always had mine balanced.

Put the spurs to it and pull gears.

If this is your first time on slicks, be ready to pull the shifter cause it's coming fast.

No, not really.

Just what I've personally run into on my cars.

Main thing is to have as much tire contact as possible.

Your first few passes are info passes.

Look at the wear pattern. It should have a light feathering to it and even all the way across the face.

I think it's M/T that has valuable info on their web page about this subject.

Tell you what, start them at 14 PSI. and go from there.

Bias ply slicks are way different seat of the pants feeling that DR's.

I remember first time I ever raced with a slick tire on my nitrous 91 LX. Launched at 5k had never felt that in my entire life. Was so amazed and excited that I forgot to shift to second lmao. 2nd will come quick. Cut a 1.49 60". That was the first time I got the driver side wheel in the air. Miss those days

That's exciting! What psi should I run fronts at? What do you do if the front wheels come off the ground let it slam down or stay in it and it will gradually come down?

Fronts @ 38-40 PSI.

Don't lift, that will kill the run.

Or.....lift if it's headed for the guard rail or the other lane.;)

Stay in it, letting off can cause things to bottom-out, like headers and oil pans!

Fronts at least 38-40 psi as stated earlier, you want the least rolling resistance from the front runners.

Hey guys,

I'm going to the track June 11th. Its about 35 mi from my house. Will I be ok to drive there on slicks/skinnies, or do I have to mount them at the track?

How bad will driving that 70 miles kill the slicks? I will only make 5 or 10 trips to the track a year. I don't know anything about the life of slicks.

indrive in my M&H skinnies , I put the hoosier slicks in the trunk . The distance road driving seems to make them hard .
