Well the latest with my car, which I was supposed to be collecting last Friday is:

A clutch fault was diagnosed last Thursday evening, the gearbox was then lifted out yesterday and the clutch inspected by a Mustang trainned expert.

A new clutch kit has been ordered (yesterday) on "back order" as there are none available in any of their dealerships...

So, no pick up or delivery date and no idea of when the part will be in!?

Anyone aware of this issue with the clutch or the back order?

Perhaps it is a recall in the making as it was found at PDI THE NIGHT before I was due to pick it up - apparently they PDI on ordered of pick up and not by order of when they get the car - the night before does seem a little naive...

I have found links on sites for the dealer to order the clutch kit and have had it emailed to them but I doubt they will go outside of their group - Evans Halshaw.

Anyone had to wait for a clutch kit and if so, how long did it take?

Thanks in advance for any information on this issue!

The wait goes on....

Sorry to hear your still waiting to get hold of your car when you should be tearing it through the Bedford High street. :(

When I spoke to my dealer about parts he was saying another customer had requested a spare wheel and that it would come from Germany. Trying to remember how long he said it would take to get to the dealership and I think it was about 1-2 weeks.

Not sure if that's the same case for a clutch pack but I'm hoping it won't be any longer than that for you.

Keep us updated.

QUIRKESTER as much as it's a total pain in the ar$e to be so close to your car, be glad your guys did a good PDI on the car and picked up this fault, the last thing you'd have wanted is clutch going on your drive home etc. It might be a sour taste in the mouth at the moment, but it'll pass when she comes, if it'd happened when you'd got the car it'd never leave your mouth (The sour taste that is!)

Not that lol, I mean, it'd be worse to pick your car up and have it blow up or have an issue, than pick your car up and have it perfect, be glad they spotted it.

Most PDIs happen 1-3days before pickup. It's so they don't have to rewash and clean the car.

To wash the car and assume it will all be ok and nothing needs replacing :headbonk:

It would have been awful to pick up and then to hand it back :eyebulge:

Have tried to find out how long it is taking to get a clutch kit but cannot find info anywhere :-(

Yep, usually the case, expect them to be perfect, but real likelihood is, that no car's entire production is perfect, hense why PDI is around.

Would have indeed, be glad somewhat ;)! ANd you get a clutch with >0 miles on it!< (as a pose to 15... fresh!)

Probably a few weeks... or months, knowing ford

If the clutch is in Germany should be a couple of days tops. From the States there is no reason why it shouldn't arrive within a week. This an urgent vehicle waiting not a routine repair. You can now rent a GT in the UK, that (or their demo vehicle) should be the compensation benchmark.

WWL says the car has now been discharged in Zeebrugge :) . I'm sure the rest of you in the talisman crew are getting the same update. Is the next update going to be WWL saying "delivered from"?

According to the order process (thanks again Manders) that takes around 2 weeks to appear at which point it gets assigned to the autostar?

Autostar or Autopride, but yes, it's about 2 weeks before you'll be assigned on a ship out of Zeebrugge. Ships arrive pretty much twice a week. Mustangs are booked on both of them usually.

Discharged means it's in zeebrugge ;) WOOOO!!!!

Delivered from means it's booked on a ship to Southampton (And in my car, that ship left 2 days later)

Thats the one. Once it changes to "Delivered To" is has been booked on one of the Auto**** carriers to make the trip to the UK. Hopefully in around 2 weeks time.

Sailings seem to be Tuesday/Wednesday and Friday according to the schedule.

I would expect cars to land in Southampton on the 21st personally.

For reference mine shows "Discharged" at 07:04 this morning.
