Standard 19" wheels
Eibach springs (1" drop)
20mm Eibach spacers all round

I've read a few posts on spacers, but need more definitive answers, so any help with the following would be great.

Will the standard studs fit 20mm spacers ?
Will I need to alter the camber ?
If I do need to alter the camber, what will I need to buy ?
Who sells Eibach spacers in the UK that are suitable for our cars ?

Thanks

You will need to remove 2-3mm from each stud for 20mm to work.

Spacers do not impact the geometry of the car!

I'd recommend you go with:
15mm rear eibach spacers which come with longer studs.
25mm front eibach spacers.

That way you have no rear poke and no need to shave down studs. I am running 15mm rear and 23mm front for reference.

Thanks for the input, will the geometry need changing with the new springs ?

Yes springs will throw camber out for sure, so make sure you have some BMR camber bolts for the front.

Sorry to keep you up all night, I've thought of another question

I assume the longer bolts required on the 15mm spacer run through the wheel AND spacer and bolt direct to the hub, if that's the case, what do we do about locking the wheel, will it need a different kit ?

Our cars use studs, it is longer studs the 15mm kit comes with, so you still use your stock wheel nuts/lugs. :)

You could Ian but you will probably need open lug nuts and it won't look pretty with studs poking out.

Would add that if anybody thinking of fitting spacers is also thinking of going for aftermarket wheels soon then save the spacer money (you are looking at ÂŁ200 quid for 4 corners of Eibach) which will go a long way towards wheels that come with wider offsets to start with :)

That's funny you should mention that,

Looking ahead, would 20" wheels sit better in the wheel space, or would the suspension still need to be dropped to help the top of the tyre/wheelarch gap look better ?

All else being equal you will need the outer tyre diameter to remain close to the same with 20s (using lower profile tyres) so the arch gap would remain the same :)

The Magnetic in this picture has 20" wheels with standard suspension setup.
