For those of you who have been....looking back is there anything you wish you would have brought with or should have just left at home?

Were you able to use your own camera or Gopro video in the car on the track?

What happens if we wreck the car...is there some additional insurance we have to buy?

What time does day one start....how early do we need to arrive?
How long did it take you to get to the airport after day 2...what is a safe departure flight time?

What words of advice to you have for us who are on the fence...

Thanks in Advance...thinking about July 28th...

Yes, you can use your own gopro. Interior use only and no adhesive mounts. I bought a suction cup mount and put it on the windshield.

They provide helmets, race suits, etc. Wear appropriate shoes for heel toe driving. However that was just one of the exercises during the day. On the track, it was pretty much 3rd gear and not much shifting.

The track attack started at 8am and they asked we get there a little bit early. Day 2 was 9 am IIRC.

It only took us 30 mins to get to the airport. How much time you need is based on your comfort level. We finished about 3pm on day 2.

I stayed at the holiday in express. There was a large shopping mall with tons of stuff. Even a mirobrewery.

Hope this helps

It does, very much so....Thank you.
What time does the welcome event thing start the night before?
Did you have to rent a car from the airport, or did you taxi it...
Thanks again

Go ahead and rent a car. They were inexpensive. I don't recall the exact start time for the reception. They will let you know. The dinner will not be anything fancy. It will start out with a bunch of guys standing around a gt350 and talking. The dinner will consist of a couple of chaffing dishes of hot food and a salad. Dress comfortably because it will be warm.

Other thoughts..... they take real good care of you. They will provide water, coffee, breakfast, poweraide, etc. Just show up rested and well. They take care of all the details. Pay attention and let them instruct. They are very good at what they do.

Have fun pushing the car as much as your comfortable with. Make damn sure you get the insurance they offer. You will understand when you are done.

$150 per day. Your auto insurance will not cover it. Do not call your auto insurance company. I have heard of insurance companies dropping you if you tell them that you will involve yourself with these activities.

If you are going to push the car hard, and you should, you should get the insurance. I shopped around and was not able to find anything else less expensive.

That is true. Mine cancelled me just for saying I only drive to track and back.

IIRC the $150 insurance only covers up to $5k damage.

Was anyone able to do the track attack before they took delivery of their car??

Yes, the $150/day covers a total loss minus a $5000 deductible. Seriously, get the insurance. Otherwise you will not enjoy yourself and not push the limits of the car like you should. And besides, who knows what could happen......

Have fun. I really enjoyed my experience driving the 350 like that. JR (one of the instructors there) sat shotgun on one of my sessions and showed me some of the finer points to help me bring it to a new level. The instructors are excellent. Pay close attention and really push that car.

That is my point..... Get the insurance and drive it like you stole it.
